  1. Thanks. It was more a case of being assessed regardless of application so I would know whether I could apply for a skilled visa. I think my best option is to seek advice from an agent, like you say, so I know whether my job falls into a specified job.
  2. Hi, My job isn't specifically listed on the SOL, although I believe it to be closely related to a couple of jobs that are. How do I go about finding out whether my profession would qualify under a different job title? Would I need to be assessed? If so, what's the process? Many Thanks.
  3. Currently just searching the codes to see if any job description matches that of mine. Doesn't show in the trades not classified section. Is there a relevant assessing body I can contact and ask them their opinion on my job relevance? I think my best bet is potentially the WHV, and to look for a company willing to sponsor me whilst I'm out there?
  4. So if a company that specialises in solid surface fabrication would be willing to sponsor me, that would be a route that I could take? Regardless of whether my trade is on the SOL?
  5. I am a solid surface fabricator. Mainly working with a material called Corian, manufacturing kitchen worktops.
  6. Thanks for the reply. I knew I wouldn't be able to use my trade, just wondered about other possible routes. Haven't used the WHV as yet so, like you say, that would be the best option. Although that would only be for one, maybe, two years unfortunately.
  7. Hi, I am currently looking into possible routes of migration, whether it be initially on a temporary basis with the view to permanent residency, or permanent. My situation is that my trade isn't directly included on the SOL, I'm 23 and I'm English. What are my options in regards to migration? My sister is also a permanent resident. Ideas? Thanks.
