1. Charlie, you sound just like me! have been deliberating a move to NZ or OZ for ages....tell people that I'm going to go....but all the fears of not being able to settle, not be comfortable and having to 'start again' creep in... youre right about the weather factor too....feel so different when the sun is shining and when I do have a good day at work I wonder if leaving my 'comfy' life behind is all worth the risks.....
2. Hi! go for it! I did a very similar thing and went to Europe to work after my last serious relationship break up.....never looked back. Been back in the UK ages now and have deliberated both NZ and OZ but something's holding me back.....I'm a nurse too and the thought of starting again at 40 is scary......but I must give it a go! Just me to think of.....but OZ is a great friendly and safe place....so try it and see!
3. I thought so....... so confusing!
4. Can I apply for PR then if and when that's granted apply to ANAMC and APHRA? have read on here some people are getting PR then looking at jobs etc? I thought with SkillSelect it was all done together?
5.

IELTS May 2011 overall 8

6. Thanks so much! i have IELTS as I was initially thinking of going to NZ but never did!
7. Hi, having made the decision to go to Australia......as long as there's a job for me.....what order do I do things in? Being a nurse I need to do nurse registration......so APHRA; and since I've decided to go down the PR route im aware that i will need to do the ANMAC skills assessment. But what comes first? NMC to APHRA; skills assessment or PR visa application.....? thank you!
8. Hi, I'm a children's nurse but also have a degree in Public Health-school nursing. Many jobs about for me before I start the skills assessment process....? thanks
9. And check out airbnb.co.uk i found some fab b & b places when I was in oz this Christmas....and I know some places will have someone long term. I'm a children's nurse looking at coming over.....where did you see the jobs jkm10?
10. Hiya, I'ive just come back from three weeks away and did a mix of backpackers, hotels and b&b places which I found on the following site. I went on my own but I'm sure some b&b will take three of you. Definately worth a look as I never had a bad experience. https://www.airbnb.co.uk/
11. Go and try it.....or you'll never know and maybe will regret it. tThe kids will see it as an adventure...and see their dad!
12. Hi all, after an amazing trip to Australia over Christmas and the New Year, I have decided to go for it and move over. Looking at visa and submitting an EOI I need to do a skills assessment.....I am a nurse. but I am a children's nurse but also am a qualified public health (school nurse). Do I go for an assessment under 254414 REGISTERED NURSE (COMMUNITY HEALTH) which encompasses a school nurse or 254499 REGISTERED NURSES NEC which would leave me with a broader option of what jobs I could go for? not sure whether to head back to hospital work or stay with what I know and have been doing for the last 8 years (school community nursing). any ideas great fully received.
