1. hi Dan, You check on the following link to identify which authority you need to contact to get the police report in Scotland. Please follow the Penal clearance requirements section in following link. http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/character-requirements/ hope this will help you.
 2. Can u please tell us when was your medical was referred? (Sorry if I am asking what you have already posted in this thread)
 3. Thanks Hassan, So it seems my assumption is wrong. Any way what you are saying is 100% true. Yes its true these days it takes 2 - 4 months to finalize meds, but I saw in one thread where some ones medical was finalized withing 4 days after referring to MOC as that person was having a job opportunity. That depends on the CO I guess. If CO is good they will help in such cases, but if not they do not care.
 4. I have a small hunch about why A grade medicals get referred. My self and my wife's medicals were done on 2 separate dates, My one was done earlier and her one on later date and her medical got referred. Global Health might got suspicious, as medicals of primary and secondary applicant receiving two separate dates, they might have assumed my wife's medical was held up by hospital for further review and they referred it to MOC for further assessment. I know this scenario is with so many assumptions, Any one having smiler experience??? I am not sure whether I am thinking too much, rather than waiting for the out come.

 6. Many Congrats Dushanthan, Your long wait finally ends. Wish you speedy grant. By the way, According to my CO, my wife's medicals got referred to MOC on 20th Feb, so I am not expecting anything in less than 3 months.

CO only contact you if they need any additional info from you. Otherwise you will get a direct grant. I received a email requesting form 80. And also CO mentioned that my wife's medical was referred to medical officer of commonwealth to finalize. It will take at least another 3 months. So I do not expect any news till that.

How about your PCC? Did you get that? Why don't you join "expat forum". It is more active than this one. Some jan 1st week applicants have been allocated CO's last week. So we need to wait couple of weeks.

Good luck with your process.

Police clearance normally takes 6 weeks. But if you have stayed in several addresses during that time, it takes more time. You can speed up the process, if you have any contacts in those police stations. Normally PC get delay due to delays in local police station.

 12. You have to wait until the outcome. Then only you can submit EOI. After you certify the certificates and other documents for skill assessment keep a scanned copy with you, as you need scanned copies of education certificates and other documents when submitting visa application.
 13. Hi Victoria, Yes It is frustrating to hear that they have extended CO allocation time to 10 weeks. Anyway according to what I have seen in these threads, after CO allocation it takes about 2 months to grant visa(Provided that you have submitted all the required documents on time). By the way when did you submit your application? All the best, Yasara
 14. I am not sure exactly what ACS requirement is. My skill assessment was done by Engineers Australia. I had to submit all my details manually. I had to submit all the certified Docs, application for assessment, Assessment fee, IELTS when I am applying for skill assessment. I think its better to do IELTS first. That should be the starting point. You better check ACS web site regarding skill assessment. I am not sure exactly what ACS requirement is. My skill assessment was done by Engineers Australia. 15. Hi Pradeep, Certified documents mean that you have to certify copies of your certificates and other docs by legal officer. Answers for all the other questions depends on the assessment authority. You can log on to relevant skill assessment authority web site and find out the details. Cheers
 16. Guys, frustrating news. They have increased the CO allocation time to 10 weeks. :arghh:
 17. Hi guys, After CO assigned, do they contact employers to confirm our employment? I need to know this, as I want to inform my referees about this. Anyway No CO yet.
 18. Hi Dushanthan, Nice to have some one who has submitted visa application on the same date as myself. Thank you very much for suggestion. How long does it take to assign a CO? for 190 visa its around 2 - 3 weeks. I don't think it is same with 189 visa priority level is higher for 189 visa. Its better that you applied for PCC as it normally takes more than a month to get an outcome. Good luck with your process too Cheers
 19. Hi chakravarthyvp, I think its better you can arrange PCC and medi checks as soon as possible. Its stated in below link. http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/estimated-allocation-times.htm "If your application is in one of the categories listed below, ensure all relevant information and required supporting documentation has been provided to the department, including undertaking any outstanding health and character clearances before your application is allocated: priority Group 3 lodged within one month of the dates listed in the Allocation table above for Priority Groups 4 or 5 lodged within three months of the dates listed in the Priority Exempt table above." Hope this will help you. Any way have they assign a CO for you yet?
 20. Skill Assessment Submitted - 27/08/2012, Outcome Skill Assessment - 14/01/2013, EOI Submitted - 15/01/2013, Invitation - 21/01/2013, Application lodged - 25/01/2013
 21. Hi Guys, I applied for 189 visa on 24th Jan 2013 and waiting for CO. Hope it will take around 1 month. I already submitted Police certificate and expecting to do medicals on next week. Hope I don't have to wait till CO request to get medicals done. Can any one help me? And also how long does it take to assess an application after CO's assignment? Thanks a lot
