  1. Hello, I'm looking into CPV Visa for my mom and dad (sub class 143), can you please clarify if my understand is correct about the fees: - First instalment for main applicant (my mom) $2060; additional applicant $1030 - payable at the time of application is lodged. - Second instalment $42,220 / person - payable when the visa is granted. Is the second instalments refundable? There is also Assurance of Support for $14000 for 2 applicants - which is refundable after 10 years. Thanks
  2. Thank you really much, I will have a look again into the option in the form. Thanks a lot.
  3. Hi All, I'm an Australian Citizen, looking to apply for my mom long-term 3 years visitor visa. She has been in Australia for 3 months 4 years ago, and satisfied all the visa's conditions. I tried to find an application for Long term tourist visa but unable to do so, at the moment we just use the normal tourist visa with my invitation letter attached. Does anyone know if I should apply as a normal tourist visa and the person inviting her is myself and my partner / or a different form, will the 3 years visa be granted automatically? I'm confused as how the immigration department will know if the applicant wish to apply for short/long term visa? Thanks
  4. Also, may I ask what benefit she can have after granting the permanent resident, I read the booklet that she can have Medicare, and after 10 years Centrelink persioner payment, is that right? Can she still have other benefit such as "discount travel tickets, utility bills, for elderly, free English Classes etc" within the 10 years waiting?
  5. Thanks Linday and Ginnyfrank, I have just sent an email to immi to clarify the case. I especially worry because my mom and dad still live in the same house, so dont know how they would consider their relationship in this case. There is no such thing called "family book" in my country, there is only a book of "household registration", so I dont know how the immigration will enquire to classify how many children they have. May I also ask, for the 2nd instalment ($44k), how far we would know in advance if the visa should be granted, until the deadline to make the payment, because to have enough money for the 2nd instalment it would require my mom to sell one of the house, which we dont want to do unless knowing that the visa will be granted, and she has passed all the requirements.
  6. She has the option to register her home address to the second house however we dont want to wait for 12 months if this is the requirement( I guess have to be at least 12 months to count as you have already moved out)??? Thanks
  7. Hello All, Sorry in advance if I ask something that have already discussed previously. I will look into these posts later when having more time. I want to bring my mom over under Offshore Contributory Parent Visa. My mom is 61 turning to 62, has two children (me - Australian citizenship and my sister - student studying in Australia) with my dad. My dad has another two children from previous marriage. The first one is married and live in Vietnam, the second one live with my mom and dad in Vietnam, over 18 years old. They divorced just few months ago, however they still live in the same house (with my step sister as well). Does the divorce count if she still lives in the same house with my dad and my step sister only from couple months; because if they still marry, my mom wont meet the balance of family test; however they now divorce my mom will be able to meet the test (1 of the 2 children in Australia) ? And how do we submit the balance of family test to the immigration department? Thanks
