  1. I saw it that they were having the exact same frustrations at trying to register with the NMC ... and all registration bodies struggling to deal with applications.

I know, it's awful isn't it, that's what I said to Ceridwyn, keep at it, we are all stressed by this, and not to let it keep her from her aim of getting to the UK! I think she was taking out her frustration by telling us all we had little hope of getting registered, we need positivity on here. As for the NMC, under no illusion about their efficiency, and threatening to put up our fees again!! For what?

  2. No not directed at you, but at the previous poster who seemed to think that I think Aussies are 'uneducated numb bums'. I was not suggesting anything like that in any of my posts and just wanted to make that clear. It is about professional bodies acting professionally, not a who's best competition.

I think what she was saying was that's how she thinks we view Australians! That's why I put what I did on, as if we would be working so hard to get there if we thought there were any truth in that? So much emotion on here, I see the forum as a way to support each other, not to have us scared silly about our future prospects.

  3. So sorry, just wanted to put the other side to the story and perhaps protect the Aussie side of things. NMC rejecting Aussie educated nurses has been past 3 months, thank you all for kind comments, there is no unwritten right to be accepted into Australia as a British subject and they (Australians) are not uneducated numb bums and inferior that come across in most of these forums. Perhaps I need to stay put! goodbye.

Do you think we'd be working so hard to come and live there, if that's what we thought? ?

  4. We can see it from your side Ceridwyn, we are going through exactly the same stress, I hope you see that? Even to get to the AHPRA stage many of us have been through Medicals, ielts, police clearance checks, and so much more! And some have been waiting in excess of 8 months! But all I'd say to you, is keep at it, if it's what you want, it'll be worth it in the end! I certainly wouldn't tell you everything that could go wrong, In fact I have had the pleasure of meeting quite a few lovely Aussie nurses in my job! So it must be possible! Good luck.

  5. I think this is appalling! Ahpra really need to get a grip with these decisions. Meanwhile ANMAC are still approving people for skilled migration but that clearly isn't good enough. I think maybe we should write to the embassy as a previous post suggested. It's beyond a joke now!

I agree Kelly, maybe we need to draw attention about this somewhere, a wait that was listed as 4 to 6 weeks, taking 8 months! And why not, have a scheme for those who have already been scrutinised by ANMAC, to have a modified AHPRA assessment? So frustrating! ?

  6. I was in exactly the same boat oz2014. My uni provided a statement of NMC standards of education which includes medicines management and standards for registered nurses for criteria 8. They seemed to know all about it, and said that's what they had provided for other recent students and which was accepted! Mine has been sent and has been accepted also so give it a whirl! And just attach the relevant new AHPRA paperwork for them to complete for criteria 2. For criteria 6 they provided a programme specification for when I studied, they weren't totally happy with it, but uni said there's literally nothing else they can provide and AHPRA have since said what I have sent is fine and they will proceed.

Good Luck! If you need any info give us a shout or just bombard the direct contact email that is on your letter, that's what I do, they must be sick of me, but needs must!! ;)

    Hi Lilmiss,

Do you now have your registration? Desperate to hear someone somewhere has got through the new process? Feels like we are all in limbo!

    All the best.

  7. Hi Shaun,

there's plenty of us have had requests, and sent information on the new criteria, we're waiting to hear of anyone actually getting registered, I had a response a couple of weeks after sending my docs, saying application complete, and that my application will now be considered further, that was 3 months ago tomorrow! Arghhh!

Hope all goes smoothly for you.

    All the best!

  8. It's good to hear something is moving! My application was accepted as complete on 6/2/14! AHPRA didn't ask me for it, but asked uni to send confirmation of new criteria, which they did last month, but no news yet!

Scary times after how hard we've worked, and the fortune we've paid to get our PR visas!

    All the best.

  9. Has anyone heard anything from AHPRA? My application was accepted as complete on 6/2/2014, I then got uni to send more info re criteria 2,3 and 8, which they have! But not heard anything! Has anyone received their LOE since new criteria introduced? The silence is deafening!
