  1. 9 weeks just for a CO... What visa/where are you applying to?
  2. They are still issuing grants but in a certain priority and at a much slower rate. It is more likely that it will be July.
  3. Hi, i have a 190 Visa Lodged with WA, case officer was allocated on the 7th week, it's 8 weeks today and the only correspondence from them was to advise of the status which was that they are infact oversubscribed and thus it could be July before a grant is issued... It is official.
  4. So it's specifically SA visas? Did you speak to immi?
  5. You have 12 months for boths meds & police checks. So is this backlog specifically related to SA? I'm WA and my agent told me a similar thing... But hoping he's just over compensating
  6. I dont think i would be worried about that.. You've already lodged etc so you invitation still applys to the previous requirement. Thinking now maybe it is SA that is having a particular problem. My CO was assigned on Tuesday (7 weeks 1 Day) They clearly haven't done anything as when I called my address had not been updated yet. Well let's hope for the best!
  7. Any further updates? we lodged 190 with WA on the 20th of January. Case office was assigned at exactly 7 weeks (10th Feb) Thinking we have a lazy one as they haven't even updated our change of address. It's sign GSM Adelaide.. I think they've a reputation for being very, very slow! The wait is killing me.. I thought the grants come through quickly when it's straightforward! Oh well more sleepless nights ahead!! A lot riding on this!
  8. Just noticing my lodgement receipt was sent from GSM-Adelaide so is this where all GSM visas are processed from or are they shared around different state teams??
  9. My boyfriend is a plumber -70 points. We'll if I hear anything I'll be straight on this & keep you up to date!
  10. What skill are you applying with? we had Medicals two Fridays ago but I had to return last Friday to provide a new sample but everything was fine... The waiting is such a killer! I'm too scared to pester our agent- don't even know if we have a CO yet... Next time we hear from him will be with a grant or if immi wants more info!
  11. That at is fantastic news Jamie!!! Massive congrats to you! Cross ur fingers for us! Lol Not looking good seeing we actually lodged Jan 20th
  12. im in perth, been here 3 years. Lodged January 20th!!!
  13. Im WA. So far I've heard it said for every state now..
  14. Got a mail from my agent; 'Visa grants are taking longer as the Australian Government are reaching their ceiling, it could be another 1-2 months before approval' I guess they no best, but I wonder where this info has come from seeing there seems to plenty of evidence that it's not quite true!!! Ugh- confusion!
  15. Can only wait and see how this week pans out but it's seems to have slowed down from the week I lodged...20th Jan. Grants from week beginning 15th Jan seem to have been flying out. ill probably be more worried come Friday and the beginning of the 8th week!
  16. Awee that's really bad news!! surprising because people who lodged on the 15th of Jamuary have been getting grants as of last week so I was really hopefully!!! We'll have to wait and see!
  17. Ill be refreshing my emails all day this week!!
  18. I think 7 weeks is pretty standard from what I've been reading! I don't wether it's a good things or a bad that we have an agent otherwise I'd be sitting on immi website refreshing lol Where have you applied for? We're already in WA.
  19. I'm 7 weeks today- no CO yet... Have completed everything so hoping I'll just hear if /when there is a grant. what state are you in for? Do you happen to know if having higher points makes this stage of application any quicker??
  20. Hi, Lodged 190 WA on the 20th of Feb with 70 points ..Medicals completed on Friday (we're already in Perth) Police checks completed also. So 7 weeks this Monday I think, when should I start worrying? Goodluck everyone!
  21. It is only an offer of employment. Your under no opbligation to accept nor is the employer. A signed letter is exactly what they are after- worked fine for us as advised by our migration agent. No one will be following up.
  22. It's only a job offer.. the employer isn't under any obligation to adhere to it just as much as you have no obligation to accept it. It's alot simpler when you look at it that your not really asking them to swear in a job for you... it's just paperwork and i'm sure if you look around you will find an employer who will appreciate that. We didn't have any problems. Roxy
  23. We use Darren Chatt at Visa First, he's Perth based & they have agents/offices across the world. He came highly recommended from this site and has been excellent with us so far. He's also registered. Good Luck
  24. With your 10,000 savings and walking straight into and job with a mobile/car I'd say you deserve a pat on the back... I think my partners salary is about that.. those his fluctuates. From memory 12-1300 per week.. If your share house is $200 and you've only yourself to look after I think you'll be very comfortable Congrats!
  25. Thats quite admirable that you what to be honest about your situation etc Some might advise otherwise but I wouldn't bother telling DIAC that your having a trial separation.. whats the point? Look at it this way... if you wanted to leave the country for a month, holiday it up and leave your partner here you wouldn't have to tell them so why would they be interested in knowing if your essentially having an argument and taking a breather? Its personal and not definiate so I think you should hold off until a decision has been made between you.
