  1. There are some very rude and ignorant people posting on this thread. I have lived in Australia most of my life but at present I am in UK, as for the know it alls having a go at me - I live here in the UK you don't you have no idea what it is like. As for Australia well my Oz friends and my old work colleagues have more manners and a truer perspective of how Oz is right now - shame 1 or 2 of the posters on this thread have such a chip on their shoulder. I will post on the friendlier threads and leave this one to the troublemakers.
  2. @Melza ... typical 'I'm alright jack' attitude there. 11, 000 deaths over the benefits and welfare system - but you are ok so it don't bother you. People suffering hardship forced to pay a ridiculous bedroom tax and have no money for meds or food, but you are ok where you are so that's ok then. Government awarding itself 3 different rises to their income 1 of which was for the taxpayers to pay an extra £1000 towards the cost of their 2nd and 3rd homes but having the poor that can't pay the bedroom tax kicked out of their homes and now they say they will make homelessness illegal .....that means locking them up!!!!! Yes you are ok so that's fine just you have a wonderful peaceful life in your little bit of England and those that don't really don't matter do they.
  3. Firstly I don't 'hang out on emigrating forums' and secondly burying your head in the sand does not alter the fact UK is in the worst state this country has ever seen. I belong to many forums and there are a great many people trying to get out of here - you may think your tories are wonderful killing the poor but i don't. As for the unemployment rate between the two - wait until the Duncan-smith creep has been made to answer to fudging the numbers of unemployment.
  4. On many forums I have read people want to leave UK and I don't blame them. Bullingdon Tories are making this country a 3rd world country, No jobs, no prospects and far too much robbing the poor and giving to the rich. I am on my way back to Oz in 3 weeks time and I will never return to this country again.
  5. Just signing up now, Thank you.
  6. This thread is more about some people having their 2 mins of moaning about British people than anything about Perth. I believe people live in an area because they like the surrounds and they feel they could make a home there, neighbours and locals become secondary. If you are prepared to take people as you see them they will take you as they see you. To be honest I feel the original poster was being more racist regarding a clan of people not born to Australia and thus avoiding those who were born Aussies. Not the best of threads to read.
  7. Read what I said. I was discussing the Tory party only, in relation to the fact the TORY party are the ones who are putting people on the street. Wealthy as you may be does not make it right! FYI I was totally correct in what I said. I bow out of this debate I am sick of the wealthy Tory followers enjoying the poor being kicked!
  8. I will not be drawn in by your style of debate. I am not one eyed who think a party is good just because the other party is unliked. You have a tendency to try and manipulate posters - well not this one. I have better things to do today.
  9. I would never call the Tory gov a snigger, they have 11,000 deaths chalked up to them and many more to come.
  10. This Tory gov has money to award itself and extra £100 a week for each MP to assist with the cost of their 2nd homes, as well as 180m to D R Congo (as announced yesterday) and invest millions in sport. No it isn't a question of cuts needed - if it were it should be the greedy bankers who should have pay cuts and start making the big companies pay full tax. No this is nothing but the standard Tory Victorian ideas of social cleansing. Greedy rich kicking the poor out onto the street to beg for scraps. Bullingdon boys haven't got a clue to start with and Tory governments are a joke.
  11. Why would people get a visa and then not go. I am packing up and getting ready to go .....I hope to be there in a couple of months.
  12. I am surprised anyone prefers the Tory government, they have managed to kill nearly 11,000 people in UK since they began their 'reign of terror'. They are living in Victorian times with a couple of Bullingdon boys at top. More will die in the next 12 months when they are thrown out of their homes. However, you enjoy the millionaires and I will cry for the poor.
  13. If I may say something here please, the bedroom tax is a rich mans kick to the poor, 2 weeks before this tax commences Cameron made the announcement that the MP's are to be awarded and extra £100 a week to help with the rising costs of their 2nd and 3rd homes they own. This is the true meaning of robbing the poor to give to the rich. All the people that are effected by this bedroom tax are the poorest of society and cannot afford the rent, nor can they afford the council tax that was added to it. It isn't a matter of older people being left with empty rooms after kids left home, it is an 'everyone on benefits' thing. A campaign managed to make the government back down on disabled children but not anywhere else. As for smaller properties - many have 2 bed flats/houses because 1 beds are rare in most of UK, and if you don't accept the 1st offer there isn't a 2nd offer. Not always the tenants fault that they have a spare bedroom, however, all the lord a/holes who have 10 and 20 bedroom estates (and I mean those in gov with or without a title) do not pay anything in the upkeep of their properties - it all comes out of the public purse. They are rogues and won't be happy until the poor are back on the streets begging for scraps. Tory's Victorian dream.
  14. Hello everybody, I am sorry I walked away disheartened, however, I was given the good news recently that my RRV has been approved. I am so happy - I will be back in Oz before Christmas. Thanks for all the support, I will still look in and join in on here - fab site.
  15. I don't think I will ever get my permanent residency back, I am struggling to believe I will ever get to return there. I can no longer read about the Country on here as it is starting to upset me now. Thanks for letting me join in. I hope other returnees have better luck.

hi Mowbray I hope you don't mind me asking but which site did your wife find her job? I am searching for a job in Oz. Thanks
  19. No I only had a UK passport.
  20. Thank you lebourvellec .
  21. I doubt it will be easy, all siblings and their families are still there and I have no one here so maybe the authorities will take that in to consideration.
  22. Hello I have only just joined this forum. I lived in NSW for 26 years, then for some unknown reason I wanted to return to UK to catch up on old school friends. What a mistake - I let my perm visa go and now miss all my friends in oz. Sadly when trying to track my friends and work colleagues down I have discovered 3 have since died. It isn't going to be easy to get back but I guess it serves me right. I hope others think twice before making the same mistake. I hope this forums can help remind me of all I had and lost to give me the strength to fight to get back there. Thanks for letting me join.
