  1. Tell me about it! I did point out that if it was a joint application it would be shared application fees. I'm exploring the 186 Direct Entry Route thrugh m employer or getting another 457 through my employer. Both have pros and cons.
  2. Bonza2211, How did you go with the direct entry route?
  3. Paul, How did you get on with this? I'm in a similar position with similar length of experience. Did you go for the Direct Entry route?
  4. Your spot on there AJ! I'm investigating the potential of trying to get a 186 visa through employer nomination. I rather like it here and would prefer not to be kicked out.
  5. Thanks for the responses. I don't think she wants me on her PR application in case we split. If we did go through the PR process and we split. What would be the implications?
  6. Hi, I'm over in Perth as a Defacto Partner on my Girlfriends 457 visa. She's applying for her PR but I'm not. Will her application affect my visa status? The visa numbers are different if that helps? Thanks. Webbo
  7. Hi All, I've had a search around and I can't find an answer to my dilemma, so I thought I'd throw it out there to see if anybody else has been in the same situation and what's the best way to proceed? My Girlfriend is has a job and is going to be entering Oz on a 457 visa in January. Although we have been together for 2.5 years, we don't live together and don't have any bills in our joint names (is this too late to do?) so although we are in a committed relationship in the eyes of the Immigration we aren't. Now the question is, what's best for me? The issues that I have are: [*=1]I've been told by recruitment consultants that the skills I have are in demand (GIS/Environmental Sector), but I can't find a job that will provide sponsorship [*=1]I'm too old for a working Holiday Visa (33). [*=1]I've been told that it's best being in the country to get job interviews, but the only way that I can see to do this is to get a holiday visa and then try and upgrade when I'm over there. How feasible is this? [*=1]I'd prefer not to split up with my girlfriend and spend some time working in Oz! Does any body know I way out of this conundrum or has anybody been in a similar situation? Thanks, Webbo
