  1. Hey, fellow network engineers! Is anybody out there? I'm just wondering, whether this is a good sign or a bad sign that nobody responds to me:)
  2. Hi guys, I'm moving to Sydney in a couple of months on PR visa, so I would really appreciate if the local colleagues could give a piece of advice. I'm 26 and I'm a network engineer. Background: several years in an Enterprise working mainly with Cisco R&S, half a year in a system integrator (mainly Cisco R&S, VPN, and a bit of Juniper), have CCNP, JNCIA. Before arriving I'm also planning to get CCNA Security and a maybe some F5 certificates. Surfing seek.com.au I came to the conclusion that finding a job with such a background might be a bit of a struggle, as most of the companies apart from R&S experience want to see solid experience in Security, and/or Load-balancing, and/or VoIP, etc. So my questions are: how difficult might it be to find a job with my current background? Which directions would you reccomend for my further professional development in order to increase my employment prospects: voice, wireless, security, data centers, load-balancing? Thanks everybody for advice!
  3. Hello mates, Have a little question. I got 189 visa recently, and I haven't made the first entry yet, and I'm going to change my job. Do I have to notify diac about this?
  4. Guys, got my grant today!!!!! The date of sumbmission - 6 August. CO requested additional docs - 23 September. Yersterday I sent them and got a visa today!

  7. Hi Guys. Got an officer today. 33 brisbane team. The date of submission - 6 August.
  8. Hello friends. It's 7 weeks since I lodged my application for 189 visa. Today the status of the documents I uploaded in evisa has changed from required to received. Does it have sth to do with the allocation of a case officer? Thanks!
  9. Guys, where did the info that TRIM stands for "The requirement is mandatory" come from? I've read this article http://pr4oz.blogspot.ru/p/documents-that-you-upload-appear-under.html and it says that TRIM means: The requirement is met, which means that the document was accepted.
  10. Hi Apkari. I lodged mine on 5 August. According to statistics from this forum, it looks like it takes about 2 months now for 189s to get their officers. So, I suppose, we have plenty of waiting time ahead)
  11. Dari, if you received a message from Adelaide team 13 requesting some docs, it doesn't mean that you was allocated to this team. It's just a team which gatheres some documents in order to facilitate case officer's job. Personally, I got a request message from this team just a week after submission. I also know some other people who received messages from them. But again, they have nothing to do with case officers allocation
  12. Hello friends. I have one question and I will appreciate any answers. As far as I know from other people, form 80 is usually requested by case officers. However, today (just after 8 days since 189 visa application) I got a request from adelaide team 13 to send them a form 80. None of other documents were requested (though I haven't uploaded them yet). They also wrote the next: Please note that Team 13 is responsible only for obtaining the information requested below. Your application has not been allocated to Team 13 for assessment and as such Team 13 will not respond to status update requests. If you have already been allocated a case officer, please continue to communicate directly with them regarding your application. Does in a common practise that form 80 is requested in advance before a case officer is allocated?
  13. Congratulations!!! Could you say the number of your points and the date of eoi submission for statistics?
  14. Congratulations! Did somebody receive an invitation with 60 points which were claimed in July?
  15. Friends, I would really appreciate if somebody could give me advice. I've just filled out EOI form. The system asked me to claim my working history over the last 10 years. Must I really state all the places I worked for even though they don't have anything to do with my primary occupation, or is it enough to state only that experience which I want to be taken into account by DIAC?
  16. I've recently had a similar question to a MARA agent regarding my case. She told me that if we had a fresh marriage cirtificate, we may only be asked to prove that our relationship is long (mutual photos, tickets, declarations signed by friends, etc.) There are no any requirements to prove cohabitation in this case. Actually, the list of evidence which DIAC requires as a prove of cohabitation (which is a crucial point if you want to prove de facto relationship) doesn't take into account some cultural and other differences which may exist in different countries. How can you prove cohabitation with, for example, a girlfriend who doesn't work and live in your house? Joint bank account or bills? But she doesn't work, and you are the only person who brings money to family, so all bills are issued only to your name. Mortgage or tenancy agreement? But she lives in your house... Any mails??? But she can receive them to her old address if her previos house is within short walking distance from yours. That's the case for some of my friends, even for those who have been married for many years. So, theoretically, they would be unable to prove cohabitation
  17. I had a consultation with a MARA agent. She told me that the best and the most reliable way would be to submit another EOI after we get married so that the date of invitation would be after our marriage. I hope it won't be a problem to get another invitation with our 65 points. Thanks everybody for their advice.
  18. Thanks for all your advice guys. I'm going to take a MARA agent consultation today. Hope it will be helpful and I won't waste 100$ in vain. Honestly speaking, I'll be very surprised if I find out that the rules pertaining to proving your relationship are more strict if you claim points for your partner's skills. Not really, you bring a person with you who already has good language and suitable skilles, so this person can immediately be included into economic life of society and contribute to it. Logically, it rather should be an advantage. Anyway, we'll see.
  19. Sorry ananawu, but I didn't get it. You say she didn't require any evidence of cohabitation, but there is a point in the list you gave me: evidence of relationship/cohabitation – utility bills, lease agreements, evidence of correspondence being sent to both yourself and your spouse at the same address. Did you attach all those bills and correspondence? Thanks for the answer.
  20. Akanawu, were you required to submit any documents showing that you lived together with your partner? I have thousands of mutual photos shot in different places for the period of two years, I also have our railway tickets and hotel receipts from the last year. I think that's it what I can submit. Do you think it's enough?
  21. Thanks lebourvellec. I don't know about elodgement, but in my expression of interest account I was able to choose engaged and to upload info about my partner, because we claimed 5 points for her qualification.
  22. Thanks akanawu. You information is very valuable for me. It means that the officer didn't ask you to show any additional evidence of your relationship?
  23. Friends, I would really appreciate if somebody could share with me their experience. My situation in next: I got 189 visa invitation 3 June. I'm going to apply with my fiancee. Originally, we planned to apply after our marriage in the end of July (fortunately, you have 60 days to apply after receiving an invitation) so that not to get into mess with proving defacto relationship. But DIAC is about to introduce new visa charges, so we started thinking about applying before 1 July as a defacto couple and then in a couple of week to attach our marriage certificate. Did somebody do this? Is it possible? Or will we have to prove de facto relationship in that case anyway? Thanks in advance
  24. Hello friends. I appreciate if you could help me to clarify one question. Several months ago I obtained my qualification assessment from Engineers Australia. I didn't order the assessment of work experience as it didn't reach 3 years then. A couple of days ago my experience at last reached 3 years, which means I can get 5 points for it. What do you think: is it necessary now to order the assessment of my experience from engineers (which means spending 700$ and waiting for several weeks) or can I claim 5 point right now? Thanks in advance, Dmitry
  25. Thank you for your answers, friends. Could you help me to understand these points in summary statement: Engages with the engineering discipline at a phenomenological level, applying sciences and engineering fundamentals to systematic investigation, interpretation, analysis and innovative solution of complex problems and broader aspects of engineering practice. Identifies and understands the interactions between engineering systems and people in the social, cultural, environmental, commercial, legal and political contexts in which they operate, including both the positive role of engineering in sustainable development and the potentially adverse impacts of engineering activity in the engineering discipline I'm an electronics engineer and I don't have any clues what to write here.
