  2. Me again!!! I know what is best for me and my family but yet again my parents say they keep crying at the thought of us going, they are always making comments to kids like you cant get chocolate in Australia!!. I'm not a hard person and am not meaning to hurt them but I wish they could say go for it and not tell me they are crying. We are about to submit out application, if we don't do it now, we wont have enough points in a few years. Supposed I am jut feeling a bit sad and want support of others making the move, OH is not very understanding of my parents!! perhaps its I because I am a female??!! Comments from everyone always appreciated.
  3. OMG, I was in the TA's, didn't think that would matter if its not stated on the EOI. Did you have to upload when you submitted your application?? HEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!

Do I have to upload all supporting documents immediately? Do we have to have medicals and police checks in the 60 days? Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks

  7. Follow your heart, you only get one chance at life. My family weren't keen at first but slowly they re coming round. For us the benefits are weather, better work/life balance and better prospects for our kids. You can always come back but if you don't give it a go you'll never know. Good luck

    EIO query

Probably a daft question, but when you submit the EIO, how often do they 'pick'?. My understanding is its every 2 weeks, next on 21 October??. Thanks in advance.
  11. Hi all, EOI submitted!!!!! Just wondering what documents will need uploading. I had my education and work experience verified by the AASW and have letters from them acknowledging my work experience and qualifications. Will those letters suffice or do we have to upload everything we sent to AASW, i.e. wage slips, references, P60's etc?????
  12. Hi all well now I have a positive skills assessment and passed IELTS I have 65 points. I know we are really lucky but don't want to rush things and planning EOI for 189 in Jan 2014. Thinking that we want to enjoy potentially our last Christmas here in the UK and don't want to be rushing round for medicals, police checks etc. Also need to save more money. I think we are doing the right thing but just wondering if any one has any heads up if prices are increasing, or something else which might need our application to go in earlier. (I am a social worker, not aware that the number has been met anywhere). Thanks as always
  13. Hi, I've just passed my IELTS, but was surprised writing was my lowest score (7.5). I made sure I went above the word count, spent double time on part 2, kept spaces between paragraphs and tried to spell correctly, I've heard they are pretty hot on with grammar and punctuation which aren't my top skills. Good luck
  14. Just want to say a massive thank you for everyone's positive comments and support for my IELTS. I've passed!!! Listening 8.5, reading 9, writing 7.5, speaking 9. Overall 8.5. One step closer:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:
  15. Hi all, IELTS this Saturday, very nervous!!! :frown: Can any one advise on the letter writing component of the general test. Do they want address and dates as in a formal letter or is it more of a note? Thanks as always
  16. Don't live in Devon but we took 6 documents to be certified to a local solicitor and we paid £20.
