  3. Hi , This prob be a stupid question but flying out nxt month n suddenly panicked in middle of night. We have our 190 visas granted, we only have the grant letters which I printed off, should we have anything else to show we have or visas before we fly out?
  4. Hi trabonita, if you go onto real-estate au , DONT click pet friendly because it will only bring up a few houses. just keep it as normal then scroll down and read the house descriptions as it will tell u if pets r allowed or negotiable . I panicked to begin with then found more houses available doing it this way. hope this helps.
  5. I would like to know what peoples oppions are on this as my shipping list is getting smaller and smaller. We wer going to buy new toasrer kettle bedding towels duvets etc here but thinking the cost of shipping them would prob even out if more expensive in oz
  6. Hi , we did online application for vetassess then you need to send off documents there is a document checklist on the vetassess website. Whether you have agent or not u still need to get the info together yourself which is the hardest bit. Once its been rcieved from vetassess we got to choose between a skpye intrrview or a practical test my husband did the verbal as that was the first date available once he got results from that(2wks) he got a certificate for AQFIII in carpentry and joinery. I am sure that each trade is different as some have to just do practical. It took a total of 3 months to get skills assessment most of that was waiting for vetassess to recieve docs in post. I hope this helps as it seems that long ago now Ask away if u have any other quiries cos about to make a folder of the process for my sister inlaw so she can join us in a year or so
  7. We started process nov 2012 . We also had to go through vetassess most construction and trades need to. My husband was self employed so took a while getting info on all of his previous work. He then had to sit the IELTS test to gain more points and it took him 3 attempts so wasted a lot of time then state nomination which took 3 months and finally submitting visa. long process but well worth it and if your doing it through an agent it should be pretty straight forward . We wasted alot of time through making silly mistakes. But hey ho oz here we come .
  8. The CO asked for form 80 for my husband and myself, and some extra proof of paid employment. Once I submitted extra info it was 2 weeks after we got the grant.

  11. Hi does anyone know if there is any point checking visa status over the festive or does it close down for 2 wks?
  12. Thanks guys u have made my day . We have tax returns for previous years and p60's for current years so this makes it so much easier woohoo
  13. Ok were maybe being very stupid or this is just the way it is. Were applying for 190 visa on last stages bit didnt realise had to provide all pay slips from all years were claiming. We have them all but bn paid wkly for past 5yrs out of 20 yrs work so have payslips for each wk. Question is - is there anyway of attaching them in one go or do we have to do ot individually? We have tried word doc with 28 slips in one file but too big too send. I have no clues about comps and will do them individually if nd be but any help will happily b appreciated thanks
  14. Thanks nancy and paul we are Sooo relieved, he was getting so frustrated. I put this post on because I have read so many things about people not gettin a positive appeal which nearly put us off appealing and he was just gony resit test, so hopefully we can give people some hope and confidence in appealing but they say only appeal writing and speaking as listening and reading have actual answers so would rarely be wrongly marked so dont waste your money.
  15. Woooooohoooooo got a positive ielts appeal today. My husband got 6.5 on his writing and needed 7 and he got it soooooo glad as this was his third time taking test and had started to take excitement out of process but thats us back on track and very excited to move onto applying for visa yeay
  16. Myself and my husband decided 8 yrs ago to make the move to oz and family was completely behind us and very supportive but unfortunately my husband got cold feet and we didnt proceed we never stopped thinkin about it. We now have a 2yr old daughter and we began the process last year to make the move we r currently waiting on ielts results then ready to submit visa app. My parents are now absolutely devastated as we will taking their only grand child away. This has been our dream for many years but my mum especially is making me feel terribly guilty and gets emotional even just holdin my daughters hand as she knows she want get to c her as much. I go through diff emotions ,sometimes I think I just couldnt do this to them then other times I think they have plenty money to visit both retired and healthy 60 yrs old who go lots of holidays and can stay with us for as long as they want on holidays, so I think its them thats being selfish and should want us to be happy and it makes me more determined to not feel guilty but there is always that horrid feeling of breaking their hearts. They bought our flatfor us ( cheap ex council repo) and we pay them instead of mortgage (lucky i know and very greatful) so our other dilema is do we go now or wait another 2n half years till its paid off and have double the savings? But we really want to go now as we have already waited 8 years for this. My husband is 40 next yr. So going to get visa now anyway whatever we decide.
  17. Hi all quick question, once u have bn granted either 189 or 190 visa and u validate it within the year, have u then got the visa for rest of your life and can choose when u want to move out (months years or never) or does it expire . Thanks I can explain my asking of this if need be thanks again
  18. When u go into skillselect and look at the break down for that section it states the qualifacation had to b gained in australia im sure . Have a look. We were in same situ as u family of 4 . My husband is carpenter n i thought he could claim points for having a trade and for AQF but u can only have one or the other so he is sitting IELTS 8th june 3rd time lucky hopefully . Fingers crossed
  19. Is it thesame process n cost to get partners skills assessed as it is for main applicant. I know it will prob diff people as its a diff occupation but wondering if its cheaper cos its partners skills n not main applicant(clutching at straws,I know)
  20. Hey chris my hubby had his in manchester it was an office set up n had a friendly guy(witness) sit next to him who told him they r not trying to trick u , they just want to make sure u know what your talking about and used his skills assessmnet n tradeset as info. He found it very easy apart from the slight time delay and my hubbys strong scottish accent (never had to talk proper ever ha) . He was in for 45 mins and we found out he was successfil firstly on the online portal then recieved a letter all within 2 wks. Hope this helps. Honestly dont panic if u know your job then u should b all good . my hubby hasnt had interviews tests or had to watch his speech since school n he is 38 n he passed easily . Good luck
  21. He missed out on 0.5 onthe listening n previous time it was 0.5 onthe reading n apparently u cant get remarks on them because they r straigjt answers u either get it right or wrong. Please tell me im wrong it would b great to try getting it remarked although last one was in november so might b to late
  22. Because were british citizens we dont nd IELTS for sponsirship or skills assessment. We have a completed skills assessment from vetasssss and in the online sponsor ship application it asked for your ielts details but only if u do not hold a british passport . , we only nd it to get more points to reach 60 or above. I did read on a while back a women got sponsorship with 55 points but that was with a diff state and i dont know what visa she was going for. There isnt really anything i can do until my hubby passes this darn test and wait n c what kind of response we get from south oz sponsorship.
  23. We have 25 pts for age (38) 15 pts for work exp (over 8 years) 10 pts for trade (carpenter/joiner) 5 pts for ss when/if we get it We left the IELTS so late because i thought we would b able to claim points for the AQFIII hubby was awarded through vetassess but we cant boo !! We wont b invited to apply for visa until we have correct amount of points , but we might still b awarded ss without the invite for visa and if this happens dont know if there will b a time frame from gaining ss till it expires. Ha i knew it was going too easy!!!
  24. No they dont ask for correct amount of points b 4 applying but thats not to say they will give me it without them. It states they r reviewing ss from the 17th of march and taking 4 wks so my 4 wks is up next wed so not long to find out. Nxt available IELTS is 25th of may in glasgow so fingers crossed hubby passes this time round n it all falls into place . But we will see!!!
