Hi all, What is the procedure to get a Skills Assessment for a Cook? My understanding is that I can chose between Vetassess, William Angliss Institute & Victoria University. Thanks for your replies! I finally reached someone from the Citizenship Information Line. He checked my passport in their system and confirmed the same date I received through the calculator when entering my "Lawful Residence Date" of the first stay, i. e. 1 year earlier. Good news for me

I was just reading through this thread, but it is still not clear for me...:swoon: I arrived in Australia on my 1st Working Holiday Visa in July 2009 until June 2010 Back on Evisa from October 2010 for 6 weeks (Evisa expiry July 2011) Then I returned on my 2nd Working Holiday Visa in January 2012 and stayed until now (Permanent resident was granted in January 2013) I don't understand if the "Lawful Residence Date" would be January 2012 or if the first visit counts, i.e. July 2009?

AFAIK one of the new changes on 1st July does not require you to leave Oz anymore in order to activate the visa. Double check this with DIAC...

Hi Rupert, We lodged our 190 application on the 18th December 2012 and got our grant on the 30th January 2013. We had evidence of living together for 6 months and our relationship registration successfully waived the 12-month requirement. No questions asked by the CO or any other trouble with it.

Hi Shaz, You cannot book the medicals through skillselect/eVisa. There is a link "prepare medicals", but as I did not do eHealth with my medicals I am not sure what exactly happens there. My partner did eHealth and her link was not working. The clinic was able to access eHealth with our TRN. The login details for eVisa is your TRN and the password you or your agent entered. If you want to do your medicals you should login to eVisa and go to "prepare medicals". You can also download the two forms from there(pre-entered with your name and TRN etc.). Then contact a panel doctor and make an appointment. If you don't have access to your eVisa just try to call the clinic and provide your TRN. After you did your medicals you will have a reason to contact DIAC if you want to. Just tell them you would like to inform them about your medicals which you did at XXX on XXX. Then you can find out if you have a CO already. Cheers, Frank

Hi all, To answer my own question: I did not provide a points test advisory letter with my application. I claimed 3 years overseas work experience and the position was listed on the skills assessment letter. Furthermore I provided all evidence for other employment as well. The CO was happy with it and did not even contact my employers. Visa was granted yesterday :-)

I think someone is working on your case. My Skillselect account did not change at all for a long time. It was still showing "Apply for visa" (or similar). Just in the end it was "disabled" and when I received the grant it was deleted. I think it depends on the Case Officer, my CO did not even change anything in my eVisa site. Everything was still showing as requested / recommended etc. until grant. Nothing to worry about, just get your medicals done.

Please login to eVisa and click on the link "prepare medicals". You can "prepare" the eHealth by selecting the clinic where you want to do your medicals and also download the two forms. They will be prepared with your name and TRN... Are you sure nothing has changed on your eVisa? No CO yet? If you want you can contact them, but DIAC normally does not like this...and your medicals are missing anyway, so why push them??? BTW: I've got my grant today! :-)

You might have a CO already and he just has not contacted you yet. I would not bother DIAC yet. Due to Christmas time there might be a delay. I applied onshore, maybe they gave me priority??? With the medicals it depends on the clinic. I did mine in Bangkok, I just walked in without appointment and the full medicals were completed within an hour even the laboratory results. I would recommend you to fill in the two forms, it makes it easier for the doctor/nurse as they have to enter exactly the same information on eHealth system.

@Bala123 & Shaz2013 If you don't mind delaying the visa decision due to the medicals you can wait for the CO request. If I were you I would go ahead and do it asap. It is a requirement for the visa and definitely needed and as long as there are no issues with eHealth there is no reason to wait. 190 visa applicants do not have to wait for CO request in regards to the medicals. @sherile: I had the same message in my Skillselect, nothing to worry about...

I'm not sure what the problem with my medicals is. I guess they slow it down on purpose as I did not go the official way. I was in Thailand for a short holiday and thought I save a few hundred Dollars in doing the medicals there, I also thought it would speed up the process as I did it one month before visa lodgement (in November 2012). I did a full medical (consultation, x-ray and blood test) and declared it was for a 457 visa as the panel doctor is not supposed to do the 190 medicals before lodgement, i. e. only eHealth system. Mine was done the conventional way via paper form couriered to Global Health Sydney (received 2 days after medicals in Bangkok). DIAC confirmed that my medicals are in process, but still not finalised. You don't have to do the medicals in the same country where the visa was lodged. There is a link in your eVisa "prepare medicals", just choose the panel doctor where you want to do it. Apparently in some countries it's only around $30 for a full medical. It will be uploaded via eHealth in most cases, however some clinics are slower than others in doing this. My partner did hers in the Philippines and it took the clinic 1.5 weeks to upload her medicals. I would advise you to do the medicals asap.

My CO requested several documents which were already uploaded, but there was an error with the eVisa system and he could not retrieve them. He also asked for medicals, which were already done. If you have not done your medicals your CO would definitely request them. You can do them as soon as you lodged your visa application. There will be a link "prepare medicals". Are you an offshore applicant? The only thing with the medicals is that they expire after one year (same with pcc's). Apparently you have one year time from the date you did your medicals/pcc to activate your visa... Otherwise I see no reason why you should not do your medicals now. In my case I believe it's only the medicals missing now. I did them in November 2012 and they are still not finalised...

They ask for the purpose, but it's very briefly. You only need a PCC if you resided somewhere for at least 12 months. My BMI is around 30 as well, too many beers... I am not sure if my medical was referred due to this, but I read somewhere that bmi above 30 might be. BTW: Is the online status working/changing for somebody? Mine is still unchanged, listing all documents with "required" / "recommended" The prepare medical link is still on there for me, just disappeared for my partner.

Yes, They want to know all visited countries 10 years back. I used my passport stamps and put the information about European travels as much as I remembered. I included in the end "I cannot recall exact dates of travel within the EU, since I did not receive passport stamps..."

@Bala123: The acknowledgement letter was from Adelaide too, but my CO is from Team 33 Brisbane. Cheers, Frank

Form 80 is normally required for HR country applicants. As my partner is from a HR country we both front loaded the form. It's the so called "character assessment form", asking about all your employment with gaps explained, all travels 10 years back etc. Don't worry, it looks like you did not need it. Still no news with my application... maybe my medicals got referred? After almost a year of work in Oz I gained quite a bit of extra weight, too laid back here ;-) I read if the bmi is high it might get referred. Did you not get an appointment for your medicals prior to Feb? Where are you located? Cheers, Frank

Hi November folks, I applied for the 190 visa on the 18th December and front loaded all documents the same day. On the 11th January I heard the first time from my CO, he requested some documents (which were already uploaded). Apparently they had issues with the eVisa system. I emailed the requested documents straight away to my CO and he acknowledged on the 14th January: "With respect to health I advise that both health assessments are in progress but unfinalised at this stage. Will continue to monitor situation and will let you know should there be any problems." I did my medicals at a Panel Doctor in Thailand in November 2012, they were couriered to Global Health Sydney. My partner did her medicals via eHealth on 7th January 2013. I have not heard anything since then and am a bit worried now. My agent does not advise to contact the CO. How can I find out if my medicals have been referred? Only through the CO?

Hi, The prepare medicals link for my partner did not work either. She gave the panel doctor the TRN and they could access eHealth with it and do her medicals. My panel doctor also told me they are permitted to do the conventional paper form way in case there is a technical fault with eHealth.

Hi Bala123, I lodged 18th December and heard from my CO the first time on the 11th January. You might already have one and they do not need any further documents? I had 60 points, I don't think it matters for processing times. I have not heard anything since 14th January. Apparently our medicals were not finalized in their system. Should I contact the CO, or does it annoy them?

Congratulations mate! Do you know who processed your application? Which Team and initials of CO?
