  1. Hi Just wondering, will the WA government do the servay every six months and in case once you get the survay and by the time if you have moved out from the state, what should one do in such case?
  2. Hi there Nicolac34, I am in the same boat as your husband and today also went for an interview and got the email in the evening saying they went for the other candidate as his experience was more closer to what they look for. Its very frustrating and I also do not know what more to do. Anyway I think we need to be positive and one day we will get the break that we all deserve. TC and be strong and You are not alone.
  3. thanks everybody.... I have made up my mind.... given perth a try and doesn't seems to working so I am moving... what happened int he future, that I do not know... worse come to worse they can cancel my visa... I am getting another jobs in other state and I have realised even if I try for few more months, i will not get a job as Perth was never meant to be my home.... thanks for all the comments and hopefully in four years time I will tell everyone what are the consequences of my decision.
  4. it will be volunteering for a month and after that they will absorb into the salaried carder. more than anything it is not just a job it is in the same sector same field and something that i was waiting for. anyway that's not the point here, the point is i hve been given perth a fair try (well for some this may differ) n for three months no job and finally got something wht i can do and am i to say no to it cos of the state sponsorship issue.
  5. thanks for the reply, and my visa does not have any conditions but there is an agreement with WA government. it is very confusing as one document says no conditions but on the other hand i have an agreement..
  6. like you said i have asks this many times but now I am actually trying to do this as I have got a good opportunity and thats why I gave a call to WA IMMIGRATION but they were rude and told me I cannot do it?
  7. Thanks Dxboz, its just only me who knows how difficult it has been so far... and wonder sometimes whether all these worth. Autralia is a good country there are many aspects to appreciate about but when it comes to finding a job with no Aussie experience has been a very difficult task. Now my worry how if WA government wouldnt release me? my heart says to accept the job opportunity in Sydney as I do not feel like saying no to it as this was the first thing that came up for last three months. and i need to find an income to support my son's need. what should i do? can i inform the WA government and how if they wouldnt release me? can they impose any laws on me to say that i cannot leave. this is exactly what they told me once I called them. Pls advice
  8. thanks for the comment... yes i may have officially came to perth in jan but i was in aus since december and was looking for jobs in perth since dec. so I may not be physically in perth for three months but i was looking for jobs in perth for three months. Well I may have job hunt from Feb in other states and it doesnt say that I have stopped looking for work in perth since then and even to this date I have been looking for work and no luck. 10. Hi, Can someone help me with this please.... I was in WA for three months and did not get any employment and was depressed and lonely and all what I had was my son. Now I have got a job in Sydney and it is a volunteer job. however still it is in my field i thought of accepting it as it would be a great chance to get me an Australian qualifications. So i called the WA immigration today and they said that they cannot release me. I am on 176 visa and as far as I know there are no conditions. So the lady whom I spoken said even if i gave this in writing it will be highly unlikely that i will be released and i need to try at least for 6 months to one year to find a job in perth. I am shock with her answer and wondering what to do now. can they imposed a law like this? can they trap me in a state where i feel miserable and depressed? i am at a lost here and do not know what to do? can someone advice please. the things is I have given perth a fair chance but it failed me and i cannot go on my life without a job and not having a proper income to support me and my son. is there anyone who has done this and did not have any effect to the visa? your comments are very much appreciated. thanks

  12. Hi I am in perth on 176 visa and nothing seems to work for me and no job for last three months. So I am going to give that a try in other state as well. At the same time since my brother is in Sydney I am thinking to go and live with him for a while and probably apply for my drivers licence etc as living without a job, paying rent etc has become a real issue since I am not employed. Now for the licence i need to show RTA proof of residence and i have to give them a bank statement. in this case i will have to change the address from perth to NSW. if i do that will this have any effect to my visa as I have not told the immigration about my move as I will be going to sydney temporarily. I am worried about this as with the bank details they ask for the tax file number which has a link to my visa status. pls advice. thanks
  13. done all that but so far no luck thanks for the reply though.

  16. Hi Bromney, Thanks for the reply. So when you say to apply directly to the companies, how do you find their addresses? How if I go and see them personally once I get some addresses. Do you think that would be a better approach? So far my experience with the recruitment agencies have been very negative and yet I am trying. R u in Sydney, the reason is that i am thinking of broaden my search and go for other states as well as sitting at home and waiting is something that I cannot do. Thanks
  17. It has been a difficult task so far. True I have been actively looking for a job for about a month. However during that time I must have applied over 100 jobs and most of them are junior positions and pretty easy to do as per the Job Description. Anyway I am still positive and still in the perception that I would get a break. Any tips would be very much appreciated and wish me luck guys. thanks
  18. Hi I am currently in perth and looking desperately for work. Most of the jobs that I applied got denied saying no local experience How am I to get any local experience without having a job to do. Does anyone have any tips how to overcome this issue? Has any HR Advisor who has got a job? I actually have a degree from Australia but so far no luck. Thanks
  19. thanks Dave and yes I checked all these and majority says it is not a problem. However, some says it can be a problem later on, say when i have to renew my visa or get the citizenship. Do you know anyone who has done this before? Appreciate it.
  20. Hi I have a question and hope will get a feedback I am in WA on 176 visa and finds it very difficult to survive. Since I got 176 visa i genuinely came to Perth but it seems things are not working out for me and more than me my son suffers as we do not have anyone here in perth. Can i move to another state and since i have a lot of family and friends in Melbourn I am thinking to move there. will this effect my visa or citizenship is there anyone who actually done this appreciate your comments
  21. Yep thats what i meant. Anyway its okay and I am still not in Aussie so cannot expect potential employer to wait for me until i get there. Is your company in Perth? Just want to know out of curiosity and appreciate if you can get back to be with a way to send my CV across to you. Thanks
  22. HI there, I am just wondering if I can apply for the HR Positions that are available as you have mentioned here. I have a bachelors degree from Australia and have about 10 years working experience in HR Field. However, the work experience is not within Australia but the degree is. I will be in Perth by beginning of January 2013. Appreciate your feedback. thanks
  23. Hi there Freckleface, I have been following up with some of the threads you have posted here as well as, on the thread 'writing of competitive CV' as per the Aussie standards? What you do is excellent and thank you very much for doing this. I will be in Perth in January 2013 and will have to look for a job in HR. Getting a bit anxious about it as I cannot effort to wait for a long without a job as I have a small son. Anyway I will post my CV here so that you all can have a look at that and give feed back. Thanks
  24. Hi there! I am also moving to perth in the month of January 2013 and kind of have mixed emotions as well. Just like you klm081 it will be just me and my three year old son. Initially we will be in Sydney in the month of Dec holidays with my brothers and planning to make the big move in January 2012. I am actually stressing out if i could get a job in perth and then i will have to find a good day care to put my little son. at the same time i am excited as well about the new life that me and my son will be leading to and i honestly hope it would be a good one. Would really love to keep in touch with you all and good to hear that I am not alone feeling like this.
