  1. HI guys and Gals My son has just informed me that he had received the magical phone call from Centrelink and was informed that he can go in tomorrow and get the letter.! So excited.
  2. We are from South Africa, so not eligible for an ETA. But I sat next to a lady from South Africa in June and she told me that she had to return to South Africa because her 12 months were over. I should have asked her, but because we are waiting on our 143 visa I did not think of asking her. It is not the first time that I have heard about a 12 month visitor visa. Thanks @Rosiejaq
  3. Hi Guys and Gals I need some advice for a friend please. Do any of you hold or know how one applies for the 12 month visitor visa? Visitor visa (subclass 600) Features This visa lets you visit Australia: to visit or for business visitor purposes for up to three, six or 12 months.
  4. Hi Guys and Gals Thought I would post my time line dates for future and present room mates interested. Also, just a reminder to check up on things as you go along. Never "assume" anything. Always check. This is my process so far : Elna57 Lodged: 25 Feb 2015 Medicals etc request received : 22 Nov 2017 All documents submitted including application for AOS: 24 Nov 2017 NB!! Noticed that nothing showed up on Emedical on DIBP site, did enquiries and discovered that Medicals were never uploaded a week later. Medicals uploaded on : 30 Nov 2017
  5. @Ian Ireland At least the passport change is a breeze. Just attach copies of the photo page of passport as well.
  6. @Ian Ireland That is a great question. We recently did ours... filled in on the pc... printed all out, scanned back in after signing and then emailed the scanned file. I never even thought of it to be honest. Just wanted the forms sent ASAP. We shall watch this space. Anyhow, it is way better than to have to courier papers to Aus. I am so excited and can not wait to see how soon in the new year we will get contacted. In the meantime we are getting everything ready and sorting our Kitty cat's papers out as well. Who else is waiting for the AOS call? Our son applied on 23 Nov 2017 and hasn't had the call from Centrelink yet. Any other dates?
  7. @Pertenhall So happy for you!! Things are moving fast now. Merry Christmas everyone and a blessed 2018 full of visas granted for our forumites. @Gogirl1 Way to go Girl!! Congrats!
  8. @rahulshankar No. Not a word yet from case officer nor Centrelink re AOS. Was so hoping to at least hear something before Christmas. But maybe.... perhaps... Santa could find a special little gift especially for us somewhere.??
  9. Hi All I agree with the PVC having different teams. When we received our request for medicals etc. at the bottom of the e-mail it did state that the e-mail came from PVC Team1. Anyone else with perhaps any other team number? Our lodgement date was 25 Feb 2015 and received our request for medicals on 22 November 2017. I have to mention that a whole lot of people who applied a couple of months after us, received their requests long before we did. There was a big difference though. They were 'invited to start preparing' whilst our letter clearly stated "Request for documents" and gave us 28 days within which to submit. Perhaps there is a new process allowing folks more time to get all their documents ready and a few of us perhaps are too close to being processed to be afforded that luxury and have to run off to the panel clinics etc. I hope that we could get clarity about this theory somehow because I have to admit, I honestly thought they must have forgotten about us or we did something wrong when so many people with application dates later than us got their requests and I did feel very jealous and neglected. Hope this somehow helps a bit.
  10. @toOZ2012 Apparently 6 to 8 weeks before contact from Centrelink. Good luck all Roomies. Hoping for Christmas Pressies for some Roomies at least.
  11. Re the handsome doctor: Oh man!!! That was always my dream when I was young and curvy but it turned into a nightmare just then when I am old, wrinkly and bulgy. But he was still soothing on the old eyes.? I don't know whether or when one should expect any news back re medicals ,AOS or anything really. I just feel so lost and.confused. We also need to.plan around little Kitty Cat. So lots of things to organise and moving from one rental to housesitting to who kn0ows where makes it so much harder. Just so grateful that we sold our house to a lovely couple Hope all of us who got contacted after all those after us who were contacted before us will eventually make some sense of it. Any day now mates, any day now.
  12. I really think that this is a question for the professionals. Wishing you all the best mate.
  13. @Brett31 Can you shed light on Zaki's question perhaps? What his real question is?
  14. @Stubee Join our visa thread https://www.pomsinoz.com/topic/50481-the-brand-new-pio-parents-visa-thread for some updated information. Just click on the last page arrows >> and you will be taken straight to the latest posts.
  15. @Stubee Some April 20015 applicants have been contacted already. Any day now.
  16. @Trish Stretton On the thread which @Kathss56 referred you to, you would have to click on the last page arrows >> to get to the latest updates on that thread. I am by no means suggesting that it will be less depressing, just more up to date.
  17. @Kathss56 I have just had a look at my own private list of parents in the queue which I painstakingly compiled from various sources and have come to the conclusion that all people who applied after 15 March 2015 will probably be "invited to prepare documents etc" while you and all of us in the queue before you will get the email requesting that we submit docs , medicals etc. within 28 days. That is just some vague suspicion that I have, nothing is from looking in my crystal ball or anything like that. Although, right now I so wish that I did have that ability. I am very grateful for this forum for all the support and advice and wish to thank each and everyone of you for all your help. Anyone on here heading for Brisbane / Queensland area?
  18. @Kathss56 We are discussing this whole issue on a South African forum as well. We are of the opinion that DIBP has introduced a new system where parents still in the queue are being requested to PREPARE documents etc. well in advance. Perhaps a few of us are too close to the date when DIBP decided to change the procedure and we are still on the old system and get informed of having to submit docs , do medicals etc within 28 days? What are your views on that discussion? Any possibility that we could be right? People who are behind us in the queue have been "invited" to "prepare" documents, but we have been informed that we need to submit within 28 days. Huge difference in semantics there, right?
  19. @Zaki I think we are all battling to understand your real issue. What exactly is it you want to know? If you are not in Australia on a Permanent Resident visa or deemed by DIBP to have been "settled" permanent resident or citizen, you can not apply for sponsorship of parents. That is my understanding of what you are asking?
  20. @gafuk Hope all will be sorted out and go well for you. How soon after you completed your medicals did you get the news about having to redo the x-rays if I may ask? And did they communicate with you directly or through the doctor who did the examination?
  21. Tell you what.... no matter how well one prepares, something always changes. We completed form 80 almost 3 years ago with our application and low and behold, the whole format changed.! Keeps us mentally fit all these forms.
  22. Looks like Santa has a few surprises for some of us this Christmas.
  23. @Ray and Geri Form 80 is one for each person included in the application. Nice to meet you. When did you apply?
  24. @Pertenhall According to the best of my knowledge you were next in line but looks like @MikenC is just 2 days ahead of you. Rooting for you. Hope you will hear pretty soon. Going for medicals tomorrow. Please keep me in your prayers.
