  1. Hope you're settling in well. Let us know when you're down this way
  2. Hi, sorry for delay in replying - it's been a hectic week - my little girls birthday. No haven't been there for a haircut, tried a few places on the marina, I'll look her up. I'm a teacher too, although haven't been back since maternity leave (our daughter is 2 now). Used to teach primary. Will have to organise a meet up
  3. Hi, hope you are settling in well. I've just PM you.
  4. Hi All, Not been on here for ages just thought I'd pop on and see how everyone is getting on. We arrived in March and have had a pretty soft landing thanks to my family. We had a car waiting for us and a rental ready as soon as our shipping arrived. My husband has found work and we are loving it here. I know we have been extremely lucky and we are very grateful for all the help we've received. We are in Mandurah WA, if there is anyone who would like to meet up we would love to meet some new people.
  5. It didn't like that either! I googled 'checklist of things to do before moving to australia'
  6. Ooops it didn't seem to like my link :embarrassed: It's on *****************.com; migration; faq; moving lists
  7. I've found this one, it's not the one I was thinking of but it's quite extensive http://www.*****************.com/migration/faqs/moving_lists.asp If I find the one I was initially thinking of, I'll let you know.
  8. Only been popping on here every now and then and WOW lots of people are getting so close to the big move/reccie trips. We are 'leaving on a jet plane' on 12th March and can't wait! Been doing car boot sales to get rid of things we no longer want, got another one this weekend. Really need to start cleaning the outdoor things, it's something I seem to be putting off all the time but there's not much time left! Already started with our goodbye parties and have got a few more left. Good luck everyone
  9. Merry Christmas to everyone. Don't come on here often at the moment but want to say congratulations on recent grants and fingers crossed for those waiting. It's our last Christmas here for a while and are all booked to leave for Oz at the beginning of March. Best wishes to you all in 2013.
  10. It's a tricky thing finding someone to entrust with such an important thing, thank you for the advice guys.
  11. Hi, We have our visa and moving out to Oz in March :jiggy: We are currently trying to sort out our savings, pensions, shares etc so are looking for a financial advisor to help us. I have done some research and have found negative reviews about certain companies but nothing positive or a company that anyone would recommend. Can anyone help by giving some positive experiences please? Thank you, lambchopsy
  12. Congratulations on all the recent visa grants
  13. Not sure if this is true but I've heard that the airlines put a certain number of seats into a block price, once the first lot (at a block price) have been sold the next lot at a higher price become available and this carries on until all seats have gone.
  14. We'll be initially moving to in/around Mandurah, Perth - can't wait! Congratulations phoenixroxy and THE HULLS
  15. Flights booked!!! We are flying out on 13th March - let the count down begin  Really hoping all the June gang get visas soon so the adventure can begin for everyone.
  16. Fingers crossed, hopefully you won't have to long to wait now
  17. We didn't send any physical copies, all you need to do is colour scan in the documents and upload them.
  18. Congratulations aliandshane! Enjoy your celebrations :jiggy: Just been looking at the speadsheet - I really hope we soon start to see more red. Good luck to all those waiting.
  19. Thanks everyone. It's sinking in now and was so nice to wake up not wondering if we'd heard from DIAC or not. I really hope that the everyone waiting for a grant get their emails soon. For those still waiting for a CO really hope you get contact soon. We're planning on moving in April 2013, everyone keeps saying "It'll be here before you know it" lets hope it is!!!
  20. Woooooo hooooooo VISA GRANTED!!!!!! Woke up to an email this morning :jiggy: Champers is in the fridge ready for tonight! Can someone update the spreadsheet for me please. Yaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy!!!!!
  21. We're not out there yet but my family are. Farmer Jacks and the Spud Shed are cheaper but you might not be able to get everything you need from them. I suppose it's like here, I shop at Lidl and anything I can't get there I go to Tesco for, works out a lot cheaper.
  22. All our medicals have been finalised so all requirements are met, just waiting for the 'Big G' (grant) now! How long did people have to wait between everything being finalised and hearing the words we all want to hear?!!
  23. I apologise for the 'typos' above :embarrassed:
  24. My daughters results sadid 'finalised' the day after thour medicals. Mine and my husbands say 'medicals received' but HIV blood tests are still showing 'requested' so guess the medical centre hasn't got the results or sent results yet. Didn't sleep at all well last night, thinking 'could there be an email watiting for us when we wake up' - there wasn't . Like everyone else I'm on edge. Fingers crossed we all start to hear something soon x
  25. The day after our medicals (yesterday) it showed 'received' but blood tests are obviously still outstanding as they take longer to process. My daughter's (1 year old so no blood tests needed) status shows 'medical requirements finalised'. I've read on here before though that some people don't get any status change before their visa is granted, must depend on your CO.
