  1. Carob.. Just realised that if you are awaiting a 143 I believe there is a tracker somewhere . Maybe on the DIMIA website?
  2. Carob... To be honest, your guess is as good as mine ! I see from the tracker that you have only just applied. Quotas and timelines appear to change over the waiting period. Which makes it nigh on impossible to accurately predict when you will get a case officer. I am now resigned to the philosophy of "What will be will be" and of course hoping that I will win the lottery while I am waiting !!:daydreaming:
  3. I have now received a reply from the parent visa centre. It takes approximately 18 months from the date of lodgement of your contributory Parent subclass 173 to be allocated to a Case Officer. Once a Case Officer has been allocated, they will contact the Authorised Recipient in writing requesting further information. We are currently processing visa applications for subclass 173 that were submitted on 11 June 2012.The electronic queue date calculator does not apply to Parent subclass 173. Your parent visa application has not been allocated yet.So, for everybody waiting, looks like we continue being patient ! Frustrating!
  4. Nicolac. Thanks for reply. We will do our police checks now and consider doing the same as your parents and booking our flights. Just a bit concerned that we might be there before we get a case officer. Can we book one way flights I wonder? Its difficult to synchronise everything you need to do...leaving jobs, leaving house and family when things are still vague ! OH WELL.It will happen (says she confidently!):daydreaming:
  5. Thanks for that info Learjet. Have just sent a message via the enquiry form. Wait and see
  6. Hi nicolac 34. Have your parents done their medicals and police checks before being allocated a case officer? If flight is booked will they go before the visa is issued? Sorry...posted twice. Not sure what I'm doing wrong !!
  7. Hi there.Just wondering if your parents have done their medicals and police checks before being allocated a case officer? and will they go before a visa is issued?
  8. We are awaiting a case officer for temp 173 parent visa. It has now been 15mths and 10days ! I emailed immi 2 months ago and was advised that these visa's are taking UP TO 15 mths from acknowledgment date. I emailed again 10 days ago stating that we were now at the 15 mth mark and requesting some info. No reply ! In Limbo... House packed and nowhere to go. Just wondering if anybody else is in the same situation? The chirreckles tracker appears to be frozen. Think I will have to start phoning at 2am. We need to at least have a rough idea ! So frustrating. Any ideas ?
  9. Thanks Phoebe. Going around in circles trying to logicaly think this through. My partner and I are now looking at the possibility of a student visa for him as he wants to study(whilst on a 103) This would give us more time to get our finances together and we can then change visa at a later date if finance allows. OOps!! Phoebe.. just realised you are still in UK !
  10. Thankyou Phoebe. Can I ask please.. how you are managing to stay in Oz? Which visa are you on at the moment? Trying to look at all my options as I need to make the best decision I can.
  11. Rethinking everything!:skeptical: I have recently applied for a temp parent visa 173. Now concerned about the financial commitement as some of my circumstances have changed.I am considering now changing to a 103 parent visa and was wondering if anyone else has done this and how it worked out for them? Any advice would be appreciated as starting to panick a bit !
