  1. Exactly, plenty of places to do that here, I often see them when walking by the river, that's one of the many beauties of Perth!
  2. Hi Stacey, I have seen them from The Leftbank in East Fremantle on several occasions, you have a reasonable chance from any of the restaurants on the Swan River.
  3. Hi there, bit sad but only been in Perth 3days. Any girlies fancy a meet up anytime let me know. (I live in Fremantle but can travel!
  4. My CO also requested certified copies but they do accept colour scanned copies. Sent mine 2weeks ago and were accepted. All the best.
  5. HI OP I would contact them directly. I enquired end of Oct for quote on 457, was £630 one way with increased baggage. I image it will have gone up in price now as heading to Summer.
  6. Hi everyone I have just lodged my 457 (yipee!) I know its been covered before on here so forgive me, I have had a look but cannot find what i am looking for. I have been advised by case officer that i can apply for medicare upon arrival, however i need either travel or health insurance until i have registered. Has anyone used travel insurance if so with who/how much? (I have looked at iman and walkabout for health insurance) Thanks in advance Sunbeam :smile::smile:
  7. Hi Louise Im a midwife i have researched private/public hospitals in Perth (cant speak for Melbourne). My experience is that public in general have a more mw led service but very much depends on individual service/hospital. I would contact the head of midwifery/nursing in the areas/hospitals you wish to work and ask about the services and type of roles they offer/are looking for (have a quick look at websites first to gleen basic info and will show you have done a bit of research if you apply later on). It will also depend on temp/permanent visa etc etc If you have any questions on my experience please pm me best of luck x
  8. Hi All I am watching this post with interest as I will be appling shortly fust waiting for my nomination.
  9. Hi there Have you looked into airfreight will be cheaper than xtra luggage even cheaper if by boat but will obviously take much longer. best of luck x
  10. Hi Tom just giving you another bump as i would be interested in answers to your questions. I have read character, work and bank references are helpful! Good luck
  11. Hi There I am also a midwife but i know nothing about graduate programs except they are hard to get on! SJOGwould not be for me as when i talked to them it is a very medical model with a very high c/s rate however if you have no experience and it means you get o OZ sooner like you say its only a year! I think that is a good attitude to have in your position. I would post on the nurses forum/thread to see if anyone else has had experience of grad program interviews. I have had a couple interviews, question have been different relating to position but conflict management seemed to come one asked for emergency another more regular scenarios. try reading up about the hospital, its philosphyetc just background info thats all, have a quick look at and drop in your aware of the ANMC(please check) Guidelines for consultation and referral and there are others, join the ACM you can do it online as an assosciate/other. hope this helps. when is your interview?
  12. hi Caroline As GilraenH says pr is better for some as gives you more control and flexibility. If you have looked into your options and definately want a temp 457 visa you do not need ANMAC (unless you want to apply for permanent visa before 2 years) just AHPRA it takes a while and they are very specific so read the advice carefully get the correct transcripts from uni (that takes a while usually) make sure all your docs are certified by a notary (expensive) or a magistrate at the courts (about £25). You also dont need IELETS if you are uk trained/passport holder. There is loads of info if you look on jobs and career forum on the nurses thread. just been offered a job with 457 took longer than expeted but if i can be of any help just ask x
