  1. Hi we are a family of 4 lived in Oz for 4 years now the first 4 in Adelaide and then made the long drive over and now living in Coomera on the Genesis have to say wish we made the move a lot sooner. Husband is from Wigan (brickie), i'm originally from Newcastle Upon Tyne and the girls are 10 years old and 21 months (yep big gap!) Claire :xmas24:
  2. Hi We too are a family of 4 and are heading to the Gold Coast in the next 6 months from Adelaide....Adelaide is just not for us. We have lived in Adelaide now for nearly 4 years and have never really settled here our first choice was Qld but when we got here work was hard to get and to be honest i think we panicked and came down here for the stability. Dont get me wrong we have made great friends here in SA but have never really felt that living here is the reason why we moved over here and when we are on holiday in GC it feels like we are home....if that makes sense. We have just been up there over the Easter with friends who were visiting from the UK and noticed a lot of work going on up there with them getting the Commonwealth Games on the GC a lot is happening. Also our eldest daughter is really into her swimming and when we were up there she had a trial swim at a club and they said she could have a place in their squad, so we made the decision now was the right time to move. So we have looked at loads of area's around the Gold Coast and when we were up there had a good ride round them too, which was very helpful. No move is the easiest and everyone has their own views trust your gut feelings it got you here....good luck in what you decide

Happy to help should you need some info. Claire
  4. Hi i have tried there too and the website after spending most of the morning looking at them they were all getting jumbled up!!! Thanks for your help though Claire
  5. Hi i have gone completely brain dead .....i have been looking at schools in the Gold Coast all morning on the internet and now they have all jumbled up into one!!! I was hoping anyone could recommend any schools i am open to area's as we are still looking at places to live (mainly north) but ALL recommendations are welcome. I am looking at primary school's for my 9 year old daughter who is currently in year 4 here in Adelaide. Thanks Claire
  6. Hi I am new to this site but found some great information already. We currently live in Adelaide and have for the last 3 and a bit years (that's where the oldie bit comes in!!) Adelaide was not our first choice but this was the only place my husband (who is a brickie) could get work when we arrived. Over the last couple of years our eldest daughter has become a really good swimmer, after doing a lot of research we have found that not many swimmers come from SA and are mainly from the East Coast....hence our move to Queensland and to be honest have always thought Queensland was the place to be. She is having a trial swim in April at the Southport Aquatic Centre and all being well we will make the move. We have looked at Runaway Bay, Coomera, Nerang and Robina area's when we came up on hols the year before last but didn't make a full hearty decision. So the info I'm after (and I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place!).....what are the area's like to live in ideally i would like to be only a 15 - 20 minute drive away from the swimming centre but its not essential.... Thanks for your help in advance.....
