  2. First year nursing students at Flinders University in Adelaide are outraged after being forced to resit a compulsory subject that's been described as a scam. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2664289/Students-forced-pay-750-repeat-nursing-course-failing-correctly-answer-How-does-PRINTING-cost-university-quiz.html#ixzz35Qp4nN9T Students forced to pay $750 to repeat nursing course after failing to correctly answers like 'How much does PRINTING cost?' on university quiz. 3. Are there any passive home builders in Melbourne?
  4. Total Americanization of Medicare is under way. The irony of people not being able to go to the doctor unless they can afford to pay into the biggest medical research fund in the world is lost on these pollies. Australia is just 1/350 of the world's population, why do we have to fund such a large research fund anyway, that will mostly benefit international pharma companies? The cost of people not going to the doctor is going to be very expensive in the long term.
  5. There is some confusion about debt. Government Debt was pretty stable until 2008 when it suddenly from under $100bn to $430bn in 2013 (now stands at $21,000 per head of population). The link below is a good guide to what is roughly happening. http://www.australiandebtclock.com.au The real news is that Total Australian Debt is close to $4.8 trillion at present, up from about $1.5 trillion in the early noughties, that equates to $212,0000 per head of population. Politics aside, all debt needs to be reigned in, we deal with it now in a sensible manner or just weight until the bubble bursts.
  6. You broke the law by wearing no helmet, but the method of accumulating fines thereafter seems wrong. Don't know your whole story but the Police should have stopped you immediately for the first offense, rather than endangering your life by allowing you to travel further on a bike with no helmet, presuming that you would go on to commit further revenue raising offenses. Seek legal advice.

    Welcome in Nigella

Nigella has admitted under oath to being a class A user, not much else US authorities can do but cancel her visa. Yes many celebs do drugs, but they have been fortunate in never having to publically admit it in a court of law.
  8. 1. At present mortgages are in the 5% range. Does anyone recommend a realistic percentage where interest rates on mortgages could rise to say in the next say 10 years? Is 7% about to be expected or could it ever reach say 10%? 2. Also what is the monthly cost of mortgage life insurance that pays your mortgage off in full the event the mortgagee dies? 3. One final question, what is the maximum after tax salary percentage that one would recommend using to pay down a monthly mortgage?
  9. There is a general indifference to lightning in OZ. I have seen sport teams continue training or playing a game even when bolt lightning is around them. Maybe nobody wants to be seen to be the first person to stop, however there is a real chance that some day a player or group of players are going to come off worse if they ignore the risk.
