  1. Hi, I've just been looking at schools and ocean reef seems good for us aswell. I have been told to try and avoid clarkson school & wanneroo school, a friend moved out last November and is having to move to get in to a different school. I was told you are better off looking in to high school 1st as that is where they will do most of the learning and it comes around fast so if you don't want to keep moving maybe look at both at the same time. Ocean reef primary also has ocean reef high so I'm hopeful of heading that way in november this year with 3 boys 3,8 & 11. Good luck & keeps us posted if you find any more good schools Denni
  2. Hello all, Sorry to ask but having looked long and hard at so much info I am still a little lost  I have 3 boys A: will be 4 in Jan 2013 B: will be 9 in June 2013 C: will be 11 oct 2012 We are going to Perth on a 457 visa so was just wondering what years will they be in? I am hopeful that the 2 big boys will be in primary school together to start as I think this will help when they see each other in the playground. And how long after we arrive do we get to have a look around before we have to send them? Also as we are on this visa will I have to pay for their education? Any help and addvice will be much appreciated :notworthy: Denni
  3. Hi, I live in London and can say I have never seen any problems, you will get good and bad in most areas now as the kids have nothing to do, no clubs like when I was a teen ( long time ago ) but I do like to believe that home is where the heart is so as long as your happy and your family are happy then when you shut your front door you could be anywhere in the world. You will see good & bad if you want to see it....
  4. Hi all, Was just talking to OH about our stuff and if we should get it shipped over or leave our house as fully furnished as we are going to rent it out. I have been told that things like sofas, beds and so on can be expensive in Perth but I just want to get an idea as to what works best. We have lodged our visa 457 so just waiting to find out if it's all good  Denni

    How much????

Thank, we have been told that the company has sponsored families before us so just needs to up date it all and he has put us in touch with the agent so yes the cost is around the $4,500 mark so now I feel a bit better, I always feel that we are being ripped off as everything is done by email, I must be old fashion! (& knowing you can get to England for free) Thank you for putting my mind to rest we have now made the 1st payment so starts the waiting game Denni
  6. Thanks everyone, my oh boss in Perth has sponsored families before us so we know he can he just need to up date it all, he put us in touch with an agent so cost is up in the $4,000 mark but from what I can see on this site it's on the right price. We did try going for the pernament visa, got loads of paperwork but TRA wanted loads more plus we was right on the July 1st changes and my oh had turned 44 at the start of the year. So was not looking good A friend of my oh has a bro in Perth that has contacts in the work that he does so he got us in touch with the boss to be, and he gave it the thumbs up!! don't think we would have got far with ringing around because 1 thing I have started to see is If your not in OZ in person then you don't stand much chance. So we are now looking at a few weeks of waiting.... I'm so glad we didn't give up at the 1st problem, but if it don't work this way then it's not to be, but for now our dream is still alive

  8. Hi everyone, my OH has found himself a job in Perth  Just wanted to ask a few questions that we are a little un sure of. A: will we need medicals, he is a painter. B: how do we find a rental property from England. C: how long does this visa take. He was on the phone to his new boss last night (English time) and he's told us about the job & so on but now we seem to be a bit in the air..... Any help or advise would be welcome Denni
  9. Hi all Sorry this might seem like a silly question but feel the need to ask. If we found a small company to sponsor my husband what would the cost be? I am asking as one of the companies have said they would sponsor if we are will to pay all cost, not sure if that is set up cost or just visa & flights Any help would be most helpful Denni
  10. Same as you, we had to do so much paperwork it seem to take months to get it all together. My husband is a painter and decorator and we had to go back 25 years! Photo, invoices, references, customer reviews....... Not easy! But still the TRA said unsuccessful so we gave up But we have now been looking at a few employers who seem interested so now it a case of wait and see. Good luck
  11. Hi all, Had a good look though the treads and not seen anything about painters, Just wanted to ask how to find a employer for this kind of work and if anyone is looking to employ a painter & decorator then please any help or info would be great, Thank you Denni
  12. Well I'm new to all this but would have thought that we all have the same dream to move & that this would be the one place where you would get help & support! Some people just get up their own bums & if I was you I would just ignore it, most of us are nice and will try & help with any questions no matter what it is. Keep asking anything you want Denni :wubclub:
