  1. Hi all, we have booked flights to uk for Xmas, can't wait!! My family have been in Perth for almost 2 years and while the kids seem happy they all want to go back for good.... Problem is my husband want to get the 186 PR so he will be returning to Perth after Xmas without us, he seems to think a few weeks in uk will open our eyes to what Perth has to offer & where we will want to be. 1) how hard would it be to get 186 with me & boys offshore? 2) if the boys don't want to come back to Perth will he be able to get residents return visa so we have 5 years to fully make up our minds? 3) once he has PR does he have to stay in oz for a set amount of time? hope someone has some info as I've already started stressing :goofy:and we still have 33weeks before we go!! thanks all
  2. Hi all, Just after a little advice. We're going to be nominated for 186 but this can't happen till November, due to school fees coming in in January I am looking a returning to uk while hubby stays in Perth. My question is.... How much harder is it to get 186 with us in uk? Is it even possible for us to do this? All help and advice welcome
  3. Thanks, I didn't think we had much chance.... Oh well time to bug the others to move 1st lol
  4. Hello everyone, I'm asking this on behalf of a friend, she is here on her husbands 457 they have 2 kids but have split up, she wants to know what will happen if she informs immi? Her kids are settled and she's not overly keen on the thought of going back. Will immi tell her she has to leave? If so does she get the 90 days? She's a stay at home mum so can't get a sponsor for herself Need as much help please Thank you
  5. Hi all, My mum and dad would love to move to Perth to be with us BUT They have 3 children and 7 grandchildren in the uk and only me and 3 grandchildren in Perth... My dad is their stepdad and I'm his only blood, what are the chances of getting a parents visa? They are willing to do the contribution one although we don't know how much this is? Any and all help is welcome Thank you
  6. No my kids are determine to go home ASAP but OH thinks that once we return they will want to come back he thinks they will last 4/6 weeks. If we all go back together then what with cost for shipping all our stuff and messing about the boss we will have closed the door to OZ as he is already 46 and is on a 457, so he will stay to keep the door a jar If kids last longer then we will still be able to return if he gets PR
  7. Thank you, we have decided that my OH will stay and apply for the 186 ENS on his 2year date, me and boys are returning home 6months before this date so I can get them into school at the start of sept. My Question now is... With me back in uk and OH in Perth, will it be simple? What if anything, would stop us getting ENS ie (sol, IELTS,age,TRA?) Thanks for all your help
  8. Hi, I'm in the same boat. Me and 3 kids want to go home as family was a massive part of our lives, we have been over for a year now and when the government said they were going to change the 457's $4000 school fee's me and kids danced with joy as we knew this would send us home. Now its changed and hubby wants to go for nominated PR next year. He thinks that once we have that we can return home and come back when the kids have finished high school..... This was his dream and I said I would give it a try for him & if the kids loved it then I would suck it up with a smile, but now we're here he dont want to listen to us. Hope it works out for you
  9. Hi all, just wanting some information..... We are currently on a 457 visa and to be honest I am not enjoying being so far from home. We have been in perth a year in November. Me & children 4, 9 & 12 want to go back but husband wants to stay to get nominated PR, What are the rules to this? Can we go back once we have this? Will my boys be on it forever or will they need to get their own when they reach 18? Will hubby have to stay and work for the company for a set amount of time? How long out of OZ till the PR is taken away? Sorry lots of questions I know but I need to be able to get my head round how long I will have to be here if we do what hubby wants. Thanks all help is welcome
  10. Hi all, I'm just trying to find out some info on school fees for 457 visa holders. We are in WA and they are about to bring in $4000 per child per year, my question is this.... When they brought in school fees for NSW and ACT did they bring it in for people already there or was it just new arrivals? So far all we know is the price but have been given no other info so if any of you can help I would be so grateful..... Thanks everyone
  11. So can any of you tell me if this is defiantly coming in? Can we pay in installments? Will it be old and new 457 holders that have to pay? Will it have to be paid by the start of term in February? Would like to know so I can look at my options soon thanks
  12. Our 457 came in 24 hours! We was going for PR so had all paperwork ready, sent it in on the Wednesday and Thursday morning got a phone call to say it was done Been in Perth 6 months now
  13. Hi Maryrose02 yes we're in WA the kids started 4th feb which is the 1st day of the new school year.
  14. Hiya Loulouhew, we are in greenwood, 3min walk to school, 2min walk from shop, and parks on every corner, 8min drive from Hillarys beach. Where about's are you looking? My 4 year old started kindy which he is enjoying just hope it stays that way lol
  15. Yes it's me again lol, Well just to keep you all updated we are now 10 weeks in and on the 4th feb my two older boys started school, wow we was all so nervous about it! It turns out they loved it loads, which is a great weight of my mind, anyway my youngest was 4 in Jan and I was told the school had no spaces so I had to put him on the list, when my older two went in on the first day I was very grateful that I still had my baby to keep me busy but by 2.30pm the school had phoned, they found a space for him in kindy and he starts 7th feb (this Thursday) now I'm like OMG no don't take my baby.... I know he needs to go but I've gone from 10 weeks with 3 boys to nothing so am feeling a little lost... Anyway apart from me being selfish I will say we have settled in great  Denni
  16. Hiya, we are from Hainault in Essex, arrived 28th November, we started off in Quinns rocks but have moved into Greenwood, how you enjoying it?
  17. Hi, I don't care what anyone negative has to say about WA I must say I'm loving it, as long as my family are happy the sun out & everyone is smiling. Everyone said it was expensive, but my god they have so much going on that's free!! For a family of 5 we can go out take lunch with us and it don't cost a penny, where in London if it was for kids someone would charge!! Lol
  18. Hi Jonny, my hubby was given a job before coming over, we tried for the PR visa but lost out on points... Told everyone we was giving up on emigrating, one person said he knows someone who will sponsor him and that was that, I'm a stay at home mum so don't know much about the jobs hear, but I have heard that WA = waiting ages!! Lol They don't normally reply to e-mails unless they want you it's a case of (if something is in it for them they will reply if not you don't hear a thing) I would say you will have better luck face to face. Good luck it will be worth it
  19. We are NOR in a place called Greenwood, at first we thought that we wanted to be next to the beach... Our hoilday rental was right on the beach front at Quinns rocks, but my god the sand drove me nuts, it gets everywhere & I spent 90% cleaning it up!!! Anyway when we found this place in Greenwood we was so happy as we are 6/8min drive to the beach, 15/20min drive to Perth city, 15 min to airport, 3min walk to the school, 2min walk to our local shop. 3 parks all within walking distance. Perfect :cute:
  20. Bless everything you have just said is how I feel, we have been in Perth for 7weeks I do love it but I know I will return to the uk as that will always be home for me. I have a habit of saying "when we go home" don't get me wrong that might not be for another 10 years or 10weeks but I know I will be able to say " I tried it I loved it but now I'm home" I will never feel that I have been wrong or failed as this was an experience that will stay with me forever.
  21. Hi, we live in greenwood which lovely, we was looking for somewhere that was near everything and it is....it is 6min by car to the beach, has great schools within walking, 15/20min in to the city by car, and not far from the airport but you can't hear the planes! At every turn you come to a park and skateboard/Bmx parks which is great as I am a stat at home mum of 3, so like you only one wage. The only places I know to stay way from is clarkson & warnaroo only because the high school's are not good. Anyway hope this helps x
  22. Wow I can't believe we have been in Perth for 7weeks already, it has all gone soooo smoothly. We found a long term rental 3weeks in which was great as We arrived before the schools closed for the holidays so was able to enroll the kids into the school which is only 3min walk, over the moon  Husband done a week at work before Xmas then had till the 14th Jan off which was great:smile: Everyone is so friendly and we have already made some great friends & have loads of BBQ with them so at the mo its all going well. So for all you that are just about to make the move....... It is so laid back and all the little worries you have will disappear when you get hear, everything just seems to fall in to place with out to much effort. Good luck to you all and if you want to meet up just give me a shout  Denni
  23. Hi, I'm not to sure if this is right but I will try.... We moved to greenwood at Xmas and while looking at schools for my 3 I was told all primary schools are good as the next but I was told to stay out of the catchment areas for two high schools ( Clarkson & Waneroo ) They seem to go by looking at the high school first, I will say sorry if anyone thinks I'm wrong but just going on info I was told before coming over, hope this helps a bit
  24. Hello all, we are a family of 5 and have been in Perth for 4 weeks now. We started in Quinns Rocks after 2weeks we went to our first open day for long term rental, fell in love with the house & after a bit of a wait we found out we got it whoop whoop, we moved in Xmas eve (big rush but worth it). So now we are in greenwood, put my kids in to greenwood primary so they start on the first day of term just wondering if Anyone has children at this school? We have ordered all the bits and pieces they need but don't know where we go to get school uniform? If any of you can help I will be forever grateful Thanks Denni
  25. Hi, we're staying on terry road right near the beach but it's only till Jan when we have to look for long term & hopefully around the Kingsley area. A bit more in land so we can have the beach for when the kids have been good. ( mad as it sounds I hate sand but the kids love it) It still don't feel real more like going on holiday but only 15 days till our flight I best get my bum in gear as I haven't done any packing;) Lol I've always been known as lastmin.com hahaha Love to hear more Denni
