  1. My sister has a lot of wombats on her property and I've never heard her say wombat poo is square - but she has told me wombats always find a rock to poo on.
  2. I live in Melbourne but I do take an interest in the WAFL as my son-law's brother plays for East Perth. He captained WA to the first victory over Victoria in over 20 years, he also won the Simpson Medal for best player in that game. Australian Football is the greatest test of skill, stamina, courage, athleticism and teamwork of all the football codes as far as I'm concerned. See if you can find last week's game between Richmond and Collingwood on the internet - it was brilliant.
  3. There is no train or tram to Melbourne Airport it's either bus or taxi..

    gippsland area

I know a couple in their late 50s who have moved to Gippsland to the town of Korumburra. They are loving it and say it's the best thing they have ever done. Korumburra seems to have all the facilities they need. They got a brand new house for just over $300,000 but said there were plenty of older houses around $200,000. It's 15 mins to the coast, 50 mins to the major centre of Cranbourne and an hour and half to Melbourne where they go regularly to watch AFL at the MCG.
  5. If you click on his twitter thing in the comments at the bottom you can get a better look at him. There are similarities. I would like to see him without his cap on to see if he has the family baldness.
  6. http://www.smh.com.au/federal-politics/political-news/australians-flock-to-melbourne-as-victoria-becomes-australias-fastest-growing-state-20150625-ghxj27.html And seven of the top 10 Australia's fastest growing suburbs are in Melbourne. Probably because of it's popularity with Indian and Chinese migrants. http://www.domain.com.au/news/australias-fastest-growing-suburbs-are-on-city-fringes-new-figures-shows-20160330-gnt6ld/
  7. http://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/meet-the-man-who-says-he-is-the-secret-love-child-of-charles-and-camilla/ar-BBraomt?ocid=spartanntp This just has to be true doesn't it?
  8. Yeah, A Current Affair got the facts - he told them he was worth $168 billion. http://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/queenslands-billionaire-tradie-living-in-modest-three-bedroom-rental/ar-BBr6r9h?ocid=spartandhp
  9. Great story. I love the part of Australia where you are living - I'm so envious. Good luck.
  10. Damn, I so wanted this story to be true. Still he does appear to have a very good lifestyle anyway.
  11. Oz is so multi-racial and multi-cultural no one would take any notice of your wife. I'm thinking what you mean is - would she be mistaken for an aboriginal and how that would affect her life here. I don't think that sort of blanket discrimination exists anymore. People here are judged on their character and behaviour.
  12. At his age I only wanted one friend - a girlfriend - if he had a girl he would soon settle down.
  13. I'm starting to believe he is legit. At his bail hearing he said: "How would I make billions in drugs without being caught? My investments, my ideas in cars, apps, trade, I sold them overseas, have been for years." We should all be ashamed of ourselves for having such suspicious minds.
  14. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-03-26/sunshine-coast-billionaire-granted-bail-drugs-property-offences/7277636 He got bail. Lawyer confirms his wealth.
  15. We shouldn't rush to judgement too soon. Look at mega-rich David Walsh who built and finances MONA - everyone thought he must be dodgy. Turns out he is a legit eccentric aspergers maths wiz turned genius gambler. When he gets a bit short on lolly he just goes out and wins a lazy $16 million like he did on the Melbourne Cup. Just saying, there could be a perfectly innocent explanation for this tradies good fortune.
  16. I would like to know the full story. You would think that if he is clever enough to make that wealth if it was from doing something dodgy, would he then be stupid enough to just put it in the bank?
  17. http://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/queensland-tradie-has-dollar596m-in-bank-court-told/ar-BBqW9Xe?ocid=spartanntp With a cash balance of $596 million and a property portfolio of $1.56 billion it just shows that Oz is still the land of opportunity for hard-working tradies.
  18. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/mar/24/new-zealand-votes-to-keep-its-flag-in-referendum I'm surprised - I thought the fern design was lovely - but no, they are keeping the jack.
  19. True. Frankston North is the natural habitat of the bogan but still attracts people on a tight budget as most houses are priced under $300,000 and it's hard to even buy a block of land these days for that price. I know a bloke who bought a house there as an investment to rent out and after having so much trouble with a couple of different tenants who wouldn't pay the rent, he sold it. I learnt that lesson myself as a landlord that low-cost houses = low-quality tenants.
  20. I went to a pre-game function at the MCG a couple of years ago where China Southern were announced as major sponsors of my football club (Melbourne AFL). I got to meet some of the executives of the airline and was very impressed with their professionalism, drive and ambition to make China Southern a great airline. I certainly wouldn't hesitate in using them.
  21. The negativity about Frankston has actually had a positive side - it has kept property values relatively low. Frankston is one of the few Melbourne suburbs where people can afford to buy into the same suburb as their parents.
  22. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/leader/south-east/markus-franks-large-i-love-frankston-tattoo-a-tribute-to-his-affection-for-beachside-suburb/news-story/336c43d0a653b9c10792dc7d591c7d65 I love Frankston too - but I wouldn't go this far.
  23. Spent some time there a few years back and loved it.
  24. Just do a runner. They won't waste their time chasing you.
  25. I don't see it as an exclusive "British Club" and I don't see anything racist about it. It would be an agreement between four multi-racial countries who share the same values of democracy and human rights who just happen to have Queen Elizabeth as head of state.
