1. WOOOHOOO!!!! So today is the day for me and my husband to finally get the "YES" we've been waiting for!! It's been a very very long road for us, and I (like Blossom) bear the scars from coming over on a Student Visa. It's not an easy route, it's hard, stressful and very disappointing at times. I had a couple of months left on my course when Immi changed the list and my study area was removed. I couldn't get a full time job where we lived (regional Queensland) never mind Regional Sponsorship. Whilst waiting for our Graduate Visa my hubby got a job offer in Melbourne with a view to sponsorship after a year. It never happened so we started looking elsewhere and a job for him came up in Perth and we stipulated that we wouldn't move unless sponsorship was on offer. Anyway that's the short of it - 3 states - 4 and a half years - and more money than you can imagine.....but we are finally allowed to call this home and not a place where we are just visiting... my timeline is below....keep the faith everyone! 16 March 2009 Student VisaGranted 16 December 2010 Bridging VisaIssued 16 December 2011 Graduate VisaGranted 14 March 2013 RCB Applied for 12 April 2013 RCB Approved 12 April 2013 Nomination lodgedwith Immi 21 April 2013 Applicationsubmitted 17 May 2013 Aus police certssubmitted 28 May 2013 UK police certssubmitted 8 October 2013 Nomination andRSMS 187 Approved
 2. Hi - I submitted last documents to Perth for RSMS 187 on the 28 May so non-drc.....heard nothing so far.
 3. She's a purebred English Staffy! But she has a fault according to breed guidelines, her ears are pricked - meaning that they don't fold over at the top like other staffies you might see... but, she is as cute as a button! LOL...just had to come back and edit, good job I checked the spelling - I put stiffies instead of staffies....ha ha ha!!! Sorry...filthy mind.
 4. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Fantastic news.....timeline please!
 5. I'm beginning to think that every time I check my progress on IMMI website they put mine to the bottom of the pile....but still I have to check a couple of times a day....don't you just love waiting? And it's only been a couple of months for me, I feel for those still offshore and waiting for a year or so....
 6.

At which jail? Me and hubby 17 years service before moving to Oz 4 years ago...altho he was a PEI so you can't say he did it at the front line...lol

 7. Hi guys - how do you know if you've been issued a Case Officer? We did have someone ring us and say they were just waiting for police checks. Would that of been our case officer or will it say somewhere on the immi site after we've logged in?
 8. I'm sorry I can't help with the defacto stuff. Everyone I know that's done the RCB RSMS thing waited until the confirmation from them came through, but if you apply and you don't get RCB approval then I would think that immi would probs refuse your application, they would not return your fee as it is an application fee. If anyone can correct me on this or provide more info please do. The employer got RCB approval and nominated the position with Immi straight away, the confirmation number that immi give for the nomination application was given to us by the employer, and If I remember rightly I had to use that to make an application for RSMS.
 9. The RCB did inform my husbands employer that the job had to be advertised for at least 2 weeks within 3 months prior to his appointment....it wasn't, and it was still passed. His job was advertised when he took the position 9 months ago, and then advertised again when they employed someone else, but only for a day on seek.com.au. That's maybe why they asked for more information.
 10. Hi - my husbands employer applied on 4 April and it was granted on 12 May. They asked for additional info so it might've been quicker if not for that. Good Luck Tracy

Hi

I'm wondering if you could give me any help with the Vetassess process for Office manager. I'm stuck on how to advise a previous employer on what to include in their reference i.e. how to word it to fit the duties outlined by vetasses. Did your duties exactly match the duties or were they just similar. They ask for 5 main duties on the reference, I don't want to miss out because I could've put something more indepth or more related.

Also, did you use an agent? I've applied for student visa and graduate visa so I'm pretty confident of following the processes, but with 856 being a PR maybe I should fork out the money for an agent.

I've been reading your posts so thought I'd give you a shout to see if you can give me any pointers.

I appreciate your time
