Yes I used the Melbourne office. Nomination app on 26/06/13 and was approved on 05/09/13. Applied for the visa on 06/09/13 frontloaded police checks, did medicals a week later, front loaded Form 80 and I received the visa grant on 20/11/13. there was no communication from CO. so total from Nomination app to visa grant took about 5 months. If you haven't done things like Form 80 or medicals, I suggest you just get them done because you will need to do them anyway. Good luck.

Form 80 is under the dropdown for Character, you know where you uploaded your police checks, on that dropdown menu you will also get Form 80. Good luck.

My timeline so far, tired of waiting, seems there is little activity at the Melbourne office. Parramatta is getting all the approvals. DIAC Office : Melbourne Visa Stream : 457 to 186 Direct entry no MA Nomination lodged: 26/06/13 Nomination approved: 05/09/13 186 Visa lodged: 06/09/13.- Frontloaded UK and OZ PCC.-No skills assessment-waiting on LOD. Medicals- 13/09/13 Medicals Cleared- 19/09/13 Positive Skills assessment received- 10/10/13-uploaded on 186 app on 13/10/13 Frontload Form 80- 23/10/13 NO CO ALLOCATED- No communication nothing. Grant- ??????????????????????????????????????????? the waiting is painful.. .........and today at 08:37hrs I received the GRANT EMAIL!!!!!!!! No communication with CO. I must say when I saw the email I thought it was yet another auto-reply to my emails DIAC asking if a CO has been allocated. I can safely say lodging my EN 186 VISA application before receiving a positive skills assessment saved me 5 weeks in waiting time.

Thanks Paddlegirl, you lodged your visa on 18th september and its granted already that was quick. My nomination was APPROVED on 5th September and I lodged my visa on 6th September but no contact, nothing, medicals cleared on 19th September, used the online medical referral like you, but dont know if a CO has been allocated, no contact- NOTHING. Your timeline certainly gives me hope I might be lucky to get my visa granted this month too!!

congrats. The mistake I did was waiting for my nomination to be approved first before submitting my visa application. Im not using a MA. Nomination applied - 26/06/13 Nomination approved - 05/09/13 186 visa lodged- 06/09/13 Acknowledgement of valid application- 06/09/13 Medicals on - 13/09/13 Medicals cleared- 19/09/13 CO allocation- waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting and waiting continues

Hi Guys I got a job offer as a nurse in Melbourne under 457 sponsorship. I am in the process of sorting out my registration. The dilemma I have is that I paid the £34 for a certificate of good standing from NMC hoping to have sent my application before they sent the certificate. My shock NMC where so quick in processing on their end before I received my IELTS results for me to send my application. Would this delay my application or I have to pay NMC another £34 to issue another certificate when my application has gone or AHPRA will be able to match my documents..HELP!!!!!!!!!:arghh:
