  1. My wife called the AHC and they informed us that there is the same acknowledgement letter for 300 and/or 309 as these all are generated ones. She told us there was nothing to worry about. WHAT A RELIEF! She also told us we have been assigned the case officer. She stated " your file is registered and is with the CO to process" . Can anyone tell us how long would it take from there?
  2. Thanks all for the prompt replies. My MA had emailed the immigration on the same day but havent received any correspondence yet. Do you thinking its a good idea if my wife or I can call the immigration and get it fixed?
  3. Dear alilibra.. I am married to a permanent resident so I qualify for a 309 subclass. That is why I am a bit worried since they have sent me the letter for 300. Can you or anyone also answer the following question: Secondly: The acknowledgement letter does indicate that you have been allocated a Case Officer and her name is xxxxxx. Does that mean I have been assigned a case officer or it is just a part of the acknowledgement letter because over here a lot of people do actually receive the letter but they say they have not been allocated a case officer yet. Thanks.
  4. Hey Guys I had applied for the Partner's Visa 309 on 29th September 2012 and got the Acknowledgment letter on 2nd October 2012. I have two queries. Firstly: I had applied for the Partners Visa 309 but got the Acknowledgement Letter for Prospective Marriage 300. My MA has requested for a revised acknowledgement letter on the same day but there has been no response uptil now. What do you advice? Secondly: The acknowledgement letter does indicate that you have been allocated a Case Officer and her name is xxxxxx. Does that mean I have been assigned a case officer or it is just a part of the acknowledgement letter because over here alot of people do actually receive the letter but they say they have not been allocated a case officer yet. Replies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  5. Dear FKnight, Thank you for the prompt response. My medicals were done in late January 2012, and the police check was done in February 2012. As per the document it is valid for 6 months but since they already have my original police check the would not ask for a new one (I reckon). The Australian Federal Police check has an expiry of one year. Other then that, if I show some compassionate reasons, would I be able to have this visa issued before the given timeframe?
  6. Hi All Thank you all for all the information you have posted for the people who have applied for a Partner's Visa. Pretty dissapointed with the fact that the AHC takes 12 months for a visa to be issued.. But anyways I would like to share my story.. I went to Australia on a Student Visa in 2007. I got married to a Pakistani Citizen in 2010 who was also studying in my college. We informed the DIAC about change of circumstances. In 2011, after finishing the course we both came to Pakistan. She applied for her PR from Pakistan and got it in Feb 2012 (she wrote down my details on her application when she initially applied for her PR). During her process, I was also required to do the medical examination and police check from both the countries (Australia and Pakistan). Also the case officer required Form 80 which I had already submitted. She left for Australia in March 2012 and currently working in a regional town in Perth, WA. I have applied for a Partners Visa yesterday through a Registered Migration Agent from Australia. I just want to know whether my process will be a bit speedy since my medicals, police clearance, Form 80 have already been completed in the process of her Permanent Residency. Regards Faizan
