1. Congratulations! Got our grant the same day as you and hoping to be in Perth early January! Good luck
2. Whoop whoop! Visa granted! On top of the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3. Hi guys thank you so much for your opinions! I will certainly look more into things! I will definitely take your advice avoid Glendolough! I know I will definitely need to go and get a feel of each place – its so difficult to decide from over here! Skate parks are very important (if he’s happy, I’m happy) so thanks for the mention on those! Cleopatra I will definitely do more research into the schools – are their more particular areas around Shenton Park School that are worth a look into? In my ignorance I haven’t heard of Trigg beach, is this further south of Scarborough? Thanks again! Kelly
4. Congratulations Renji!! Lets hope the rest of us won't be too far behind you!
5. Hi Renji, I'm in same boat as you. Medicals were done on 14th Sept. I rang clinic who said all info was sent on 17th and when I go online it says medicals finalised - so they obviously have looked at them! But still no visa. This is torture.
6. Thanks! Such a big decision, must get it right!
7. Ha ha, a tea towel may be good then to soak them all up
8. Finally narrowed it down to three areas to start our new life due to proximity to CBD, beach and school. Areas are: Scarborough, Doubleview, Innaloo. I need to be close enough to get to work in CBD, close to Churchlands school for my 13 year old to go to school alone and close as possible to a beach. I would appreciate any input from those who live, or have visited any of those areas! Am a single mum so want my son to be happy - he's obsessed with bmx / skateboards etc so need to know there is plenty of parks etc to keep him occupied! All rentals seem to be astranomical but putting money to one side I want a safe neighbourhood, family friendly close to all the above! Plus if anyone has any advice or imput regarding churchlands school I would really appreciate it! Have heard something about Glendalough but don't know if good or bad - any ideas? Many thanks Kelly x
9. Hey guys was just wondering what you ended up giving people as gifts before you left loved ones in the UK? There is a good chance that it is years before I will see friends again so wondered what kind of gift to give out. There is obviously, family, really good friends, good friends and aquaintances. Want something personal that won't break the bank for so many people! Even if its a tea towel with our ugly mugs on it so they don't forget us! Any ideas??? Thanks Kelly x
10. I wouldn't worry about not a case officer not being in touch yet, - especially if you front loaded your medical checks etc because primarily that is what they email you to tell you to do. My medicals were done on 14 Sept and sent on 17 Sept. Logging on everday waiting for THE email! Nothing yet its bloody torture! Hoping it won't be long as I got my CO a little after everyone got theirs! Fingers crossed!
11. Wow can't believe how quickly everyones case is progressing! We all now either have visas or definately case officers! I was able to book an appointment for medical within days so don't worry - can't believe how expensive it is for what it entails though! In fact I can't believe how expensive this whole thing has been! There's only two of us but some of you with families, it must be costing a fortune! Lets hope its worth it for all of us Mel, all I know is I'm off to Perth! Thats it! Now trying to decide, sell the house? Rent the house? Sell stuff? Ship stuff? Decisions Decisions! Kelly
12. Thanks for that I will get looking!
13. Hi guys, just wondered if anyone has any experience of the seven seas move cubes? Can anyone shed any light on what you can cram into them or how much they cost? Keep trying to get through to the helpline number but no luck yet (don't know whether its a good sign or bad). I only have a few items of large furniture I'm wanting to take plus boxes so wondering if these may be the way to go. Thanks in advance! Kelly
14. Wow melanie that was quick I think you submitted your visa application the day before me! When did you do your medical? We had ours yesterday. The clinic said that the wait on the blood result was 4 days and then they would send everything over electronically. So now we wait. Again. Fingers crossed it won't be long. Now I'm jumping to the removal questions! Thats the next step!
15. Ah I'm in same boat too. Got lots to lose when we go, have a lovely house, great job, security, family and friends. I'm a single mum and when we go to Oz we will have ........nothing! Ha ha! Thought it was a great adventure but now its getting closer (meds next week) I'm beginning to wonder if I'm doing the right thing especially as my son is almost 14 too and beginning yr 9 this week. But I'm telling myself you only live once! Keep us posted on how you get on! Kellyx
16. Co today!!! Lodged our application on 28.6.12!
17. Got my CO today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't believe how quick this is going!
18. Hey guys I lodged my 175 on 29 June....still waiting for a CO!
19. Hey guys! I lodged on 29 June and still waiting too
20. Hi everyone! I lodged my 175 just in time two weeks ago! Can I ask did you all certify your black and white copy documents? Or did you take the chance and just scan them?! Thanks Kelly
21. Hi guys! I wonder if anyone can help! I'm really struggling to understand what documents to get certified if any. I know that colour documents do not have to be - only black and white documents. However some of my documents I don't have the originals to (nor can I get hold of them, eg uni transcripts etc) so I can't get them certified anyway. Some of my darker coloured documents look black and white even though they are not - does that mean I should certify them? Some people are posting that they haven't certified anything at all so now I don't know what to do! Sorry if I sound anal but after paying all of this money I don't want to fall at the last hurdle purely because a few documents were not certified. Are they really that tight on this stuff? I'm grateful for anyones advice!
22.

Hi Murta I hope you don't mind me messaging you! Have you uploaded all your documents for your 175 visa yet? I know you said you weren't certifying anything - does that include black and white documents? I'm starting to stress over small things but keep telling myself surely it can't be that big of a deal can it?! I have a couple of black and white documents that aren't originals anyway so I don't have any choice but to scan them! Thanks

23. Hi guys! Am now busy scanning all my documents ready to upload! The weather outside tells me the sooner we get out of here the better!
24. Just when I thought it was all over and the uncertainty of skills select would be the next step I got a postivie skills assesment 2 days before the deadline! Have now lodged 175 by the skin of my teeth! Thanks for all the advice off everyone so far - I'm sure I will have loads of questions in the future though! Good luck everyone whatever your chosen visa! Its so exciting!!!
