  1. WHOOP, see (page 421) I said it would happen yest or today. So so happy for you. xxx

Yes, I know! Now, could you tell me when I will be selling my house?

Congrats on your sale and move, it must feel great to be free to save and plan. Tania, you too!

  2. Tania can you please turn us purple? We got our Christmas present today!

According to our agent, our CO was new and probably inexperienced. The team leader has picked up our case today and made everything in order.

  3. Can anyone let me know what seems to be the standard waiting time between having given all the requested information and obtaining the grant letter??

We were allocated our CO on 19 Oct and they requested the Form 80, PCC and some extra employment info whihc we uploaded on the 9 Nov (we have already uploaded our medicals in May). I thought by this stage we would have gotten the grant email:confused: and keep getting worried that there must be some problem - otherwise why the delay. Aaagh!! Hate all this waiting!!!!!:arghh:

I know the feeling. We're from Feb, got a CO finally in Nov (after even April applicants already had a grant)... All was finalised on 5 Dec, hoped we would have our grant this year, but not yet. Our agent has sent three emails so far, but that hasn't helped.

  4. Hi guys, just a short update to say nothing has happened yet for us. Still no news from our CO... Probably already on Christmas holidays .

It would have been such a nice Christmas present...

It's good to see though that CO's are already allocated to June, it is going at such a quick pace! Congratulations!

  5. I feel exactly the same! I'm a May 17th applicant.. I called up DIAC and asked about the status of my application.. They advised that my application had already been batched allocated.. No specific CO yet but possibly already given to a team..

    I'm getting a little worried myself :(

I know how you feel. I was by far the last Feb applicant to get a CO. In fact, it was on the day of the official update that the passed my date, that I got a CO. People from April were getting COs long before I did... It's very frustrating, I know, but don't worry about it until the official published allocation dates are further than your application date.

  6. Hubby will need to retake the IELTS test to qualify for full marks off 20 points, he got 7,7,8,9 last time which was enough before new changes in July 2011, so will get that sorted as soon as.

Need to check which states are definately sponsoring his qualification.

I am assuming that we will have to medicals done again for a 'new' application?? I suppose ploice checks will be ok as long as the dont run out?

Hi, I agree with the above: ask an agent to see if there is anything you may overlook.

Apart from that: as far as I know, both medicals and police checks are valid for a year. That means that if you can get a grant and book a flight before that year is over, you should be ok. I think you had your medical in Sept? Application for 176 can go pretty fast in some cases (faster then 175 in 2011), because they are cat3, so I think that it may be possible... ?

  7. Omg.......devastating news to wake up to

we have been refused our visa!!!!

I am in tears and dont know what to do next.

Oh's work experience in oz was from jan 2007-may 2008,(which is over 12 months) however they are using the dates june 2007- june 2011 for the relevant 12 months experience. So his is 4 weeks short of the 12 months,

i am so upset that this has happened and would like some advice please, does anyone know who i can get some advice from....please please please hellp me.....

oooooooh That's awful! I'm so sorry for you! :arghh:

I have no advice except what others already said and that is to ask an agent. I do hope you will find a solution

  8. Dont worry a percentage of medicals are referred as a matter of course, I suppose it is no different to people being randomly checked in other places such as airports etc.

You were right, all medicals finalised today!!

  9. My medicals was also referred and then finalised 2 days alater:jiggy:

Any existing conditions? I had epilepsy as a child, last seizure 15 years ago, EEG normal, low maintenance meds and they still referred mine...:skeptical:

Good luck! Hope you get some answers soon!

    A

Thanks all for your advice and support

Just called the clinic, and the doctor says blood tests were fine too. It may be because of some hearing loss that I have in one ear. But the doctor has said that he has declared us to be healthy.

Well, let's hope the ozzie medical officer agrees with him

  10. Did the Doctor say there was a problem with any part of the Medicals/X-Ray/Bloods or urine tests?? If no then i shouldn't think you should worry, for some reason many peoples med's get referred, then finalised a few days later.

no, he didn't say there was something wrong, but I don't know about the blood test results. Tried to call the clinic, but they didn't answer the phone. I'll try again later.

    thx

  11. My and OHs medicals say 'referred' on the online status. Kids' are finalized. Our agent says that that means that it is send over to a 'medical officer of the Commonwealth’ because something may be wrong or unclear. Does anyone know if this is bad news or just something that can happen??

  12. Has anyone read on the 'Any regrets on moving back to the UK' thread? They are really slating Oz, I cant understand it.

    read it

IMO you don't really know if you'll be able to settle happily until you try. But I also think that some people may feel that living in Oz is one big holiday. It is not, you still have to work and some things will be better and some things won't.

I think Oz is the right place for us to be, as do you. Otherwise we wouldn't go through all of this! And I don't believe we will want to go back. But you can't be sure.

and welcome The Piggery, Claire101 (electrical engineer) finally i found somebody the same carrer here :)

congratulations!! This is another good week :-D

  14. thank you,Yes I have booked me meds for next week in Hungary and also plan to bring police check from there. Would like to apply for UK PCC this week and from my country getting PCC in two weeks through embassy. We had little argument with my agent, he would like to wait until CO will ask for these documents, but I dont think it is clever. So I do it my way :mask:

I know the feeling! We were by far the last Feb applicants who got a CO. We got fed up with it and booked meds and applied for pcc before we had a CO. Our agent advised against it. However, we got a CO a few days before the day of the medicals so it all came out perfect. You'll see, it will be close for you too. You'll be fine.
