Apologies if this is the wrong thread. If I was made redundant (or fired) legitimately from my nominating employer, I realise I should be OK to keep my visa, but would my next job have to be in a regional area? Realistically given what I do, that's going to be near impossible.

Finally got my case office and they asked for medicals and some other info. Those were completed last week (Weds). Any idea how long it usually takes from that point (have already waited over 5 months so far). When I log in to Immi Online it shows the medical info has been received fine.

Yay - case opened today (submit April 25) They've asked for medical checks for me and partner, and Evidence for Skills Requirement for me. I'm in as a marketing specialist so will provide CV, and reference from current and previous 2 jobs (as marketing specialist). Will that suffice?

Applied 23/04 RCB certification received on 19/06 Heard nothing else. Have submitted most document I think i'll need - only thing I haven't done yet is medicals as it says to wait to be asked....

I submitted my 187 Direct Entry submission on 23rd April I've already prepared and provided most of the documentation (police checks (here and overseas), references, passports, birth certs, registered relationship status etc.) The only thing we haven't done yet is our medicals. Should we book and do these now in the hope that when the case officer does open our case they have everything and approve it right away? Or should we wait for them to open case and then request what we need (which will likely only be the medial checks)

So they don't even communicate about the bridging visa til then? Or they communicate soon and it comes in to effect then?

Hey peeps - I submitted my 187 yesterday (Direct Entry) How long before my bridging visa comes through? My current 457 expires in a week.....

Question pls - my current employer will be nominating me for my 187 Visa application, however their Standard Business Sponsorship (SBS) expired last week and they need to renew that before they can submit my nomination request. How long roughly does it take to renew your SBS? My 457 expires very soon, and i've been waiting for them to get the nomination submitted so i can submit my application but I'm running out of time......

I do this commute 2-3 times a week, but I think if i did it every day it'd kill me! Especially to South Brisbane (Mater) That said - in my opinion - there's nowhere comparable to live anywhere north between Brisbane and Sunny Coast No jobs at Nambour hospital? Or the new one at Kawana?

Also - what does this mean under employer section : You must not be an approved overseas standard business sponsor under the subclass 457 visa programme. My employer is a business sponsor for the 457 which they gave me?! (Which is a requirement of the transition stream) #confused!

Quick question I will be including my girlfriend as a secondary applicant on my 187 Visa. She isn't currently working. When the visa gets granted, I'm aware I will be required to work for my same employer and in a regional area for 2 years, but what are her obligations? Thanks

COol - thanks - wow, I'm in the wrong job then. What exactly do they do, other than tell us to collate all the info that is all clearly detailed on the immi website?

My employer has been quoted $2k just to do the nomination (for a 187). This seems ludicrous given whats required - my employer knows they have to get payroll and training figures etc (they did all this for my 457 3 yrs ago). Is that the going rate, or is someone pulling a fast one? NB it is the transition stream as i've been in the nominated position for 3 years

How are people submitting their visa application and nomination request at same time? I thought you needed the approved nomination reference number before you could start the application? My 457 expires May4 and I'm chasing my employer to do nomination and getting worried that I only have 6 weeks to get my application (187) started! if my employer nom doesn't come in before may 4 do I have to leave country?
