  1. It's not a website. You email them. I guess they have a site too for general info about them and what they do, but I never saw it and that's certainly not how the booking process works.
  2. No, I did what lebourvellec described. And these flights are not just with Qantas - we had various quotes from Emirates and BA too. In terms of price, our flights would have been over £4K on skyscanner.net and we paid less than £2.5K. This was for 2 adults, 2 kids and an infant. Hope this helps.
  3. No, I got a migrant flight, so you're not allowed a return. It was a massive discount versus the same flight booked through an online flight supermarket (plus double baggage allowance), so we didn't look at any other options
  4. One-way tickets to Oz are definitely the most exciting things I've ever bought :-) House rented out - tick! Job quit - tick! Now our flights are booked and paid for, so we just have to pack up our lives in 9 weeks, find a job, school for the kids and somewhere to live...best get on with it!
  5. If you had a visa declined due to meds or approved despite a pre-existing condition, please post the condition, the visa outcome and how long it took. Thanks!
  6. It was a week. I thought I finished one job and started the next a week earlier than I did. They were both 'recognised' jobs so it didn't make any difference. I reckon yours fits into the same bracket.
  7. I don't think they'd care about that unless the extra 2 days pushed your experience up over one of the thresholds and so got you 5 points you shouldn't have had. I had an issue like that and it was never mentioned.
  8. Brilliant news Nick! Congrats. Thanks for your kind wishes by the way. Sorry not replied - mad busy planning the move! As someone else said, do be careful and ideally check your EOI before telling ACT the EOI number. I nearly accidentally over claimed years of skilled experience, as my current job is totally relevant to my recognised profession, but I didn't get it VETASSESS-ed (didn't want to tell my boss then!), so you have to say it's not relevant to the profession. There's a sticky on the migration forum you've probably seen about not over-claiming on EOI which saved my bacon - thanks to Alan the migration agent!
  9. Sounds about right pswebb from my experience and what I've read on here.I do hope you finally hear good news on Monday!
  10. Well done to all those who got grants (or visas) this week :-) Truly life changing. And to all those still waiting - your time is coming soon!
  11. No form 80 for us. CO did ask for a few docs (just the very basics - passports, birth certificates, work experience proof etc.).
  12. I just got a grant! Woo hoo! Can't believe it :-)
  13. No! That must be driving you nuts! I really hope they get to you soon.
  14. I'm an 'organisation and methods analyst' if that helps! It seems to be luck of the draw with CO wait times. Some people have waited 6+ weeks, so who knows how it's determined. Fingers crossed they'll get to you soon!
  15. You probably saw this yourself but someone on a thread like this (maybe this one?) said their first email from their CO was a visa grant, so perhaps that'll be you on Monday?
  16. No not too much really. Just all the very basic stuff: skills assessment, IELTS, references, P60s, passports etc. We've got virtually nothing left to submit already. Fingers crossed we may even get a grant when my med comes through Thursday/ Friday next week.
  17. That's the spirit N7! Fingers crossed for you. Have you looked at Telstra by the way? I saw a great job for me in ACT with them and you'd guess they must have call centres around the country.
  18. Just thought I'd share that I got my CO yesterday 12 working days from lodge date for a 190 :-) So won't be long now surely for anyone still waiting...
  19. Glad to hear you're getting there N7! Meds are straightforward - blood test, chest x-ray, quick physical (tap knees, elbows, look in ears, eyes, blood pressure etc.) and lots of questions. You're right about visa app - it's unbelievable! Am constantly on the website trying to upload docs and 99% of the time it fails. Hopefully they'll resolve it soon...
  20. Hi, I'm hoping some of you who've had a grant recently can help. I got my VETASSESS, SS and 190 invite and have lodged my visa. I'm now trying to figure out what documents I need to upload. The checklist on Skillselect is fairly vague - it just says I need to 'provide evidence to support' my points test claims. Does my VETASSESS points test advice letter do this? Or do I need letters from employers and/ or P60s? If I need to provide letters, do they need to be certified? One of them is black and white - the rest should be fine as they're colour. Thanks in advance :-)
  21. Hi PIO-ers, I'm in the middle of applying for a 190 visa, having got my SS through last week. Obviously keen not to mess it up having got this far! There’s a few things I’m not sure of. I’ve been all over the DIAC website and can’t even see an email address to ask. So I’m hoping some of you can help! 1) ‘Has the applicant been employed overseas in their nominated occupation or a closely related occupation at a skilled level immediately before lodging this application?’. I excluded my current role from my VETASSESS, as I didn't need any more points and I didn’t want to tell my employer about my plans. So, does this mean I answer ‘no’ to this question? 2) Do I need to include my wife’s work and academic background? We’re not trying to claim points for partner skills, so tempted just not to include it (as it’s easier – less documents to locate), though don’t want to provide false info either. 3) My wife’s passport expires next month. She’s applied for a new one, which will take a couple of weeks. It seems it’s easy enough to notify DIAC of a new passport number and we're keen to get the process going ASAP. Has anyone got experience of this? 4) There’s no page 5 showing in the online visa application form. When I first drafted my answers, I didn’t necessarily fill them in accurately, as I just wanted to get through to the end to see what questions I’d need to answer. Being paranoid, I'm concerned that maybe there's just an IT glitch preventing me seeing page 5 (OK, so this one is a bit silly, as it's almost certainly just an IT thing, but you never know...) Thanks in advance! Chris
  22. Great news for both of you! Race you to visa grant :-)
  23. Good news - I got my sponsorship approved today! And then my invitation to apply for a 190 visa too :-) Woo hoo! 35 working days to process my SS. Won't be long now for you guys...
