  1. Hi, we have come across on a 457 so at the moment don't qualify for any help from centrelink and our little one goes to day care centre that is $70 a day. The day is from 6.30am until 6.30pm and you pay for the full day whether you send them all day or not. Meal are included but I did look at one that was more but meals weren't provided!! We are in process of applying for PR so hould get some help with payments once that comes through! Good Luck with your move.
  2. Hi, I would just lift them off with the hangers and lie them down in the packing boxes as that is what the packers did with our stuff that I hadn't already taken off hangers!! It was so easy at this end just to lift them out and hang them up. If you want to wash them once here at least then you can do it in your own time. Also it means you will have coat hangers as I had to go and and buy a load to replace the ones I had got rid of!!!
  3. Hi Forgive me revisiting questions I have raised before but here goes. We have just got a 457 unbder my name. We have 2 cars. A honda intgra type r (2001 but only 25000 miles - cost 12500 3 yrs ago). Bought under my name as a new import from Japan 3 years ago. A honda CRV 2006 40000 miles (petrol) bought me in my name 20months ago for £11000 and transfered to my wifes name soon after. My wife is currently a housewife and has no employment. When we leave we are not selling our house as we aim to let it out in the uk as an investment. We have no address yet in Brisbane as my new emplyer will get that sorted for us before we arrive. (We have applied for a bank account) Looking at the paperwork to apply for a permit it would appear as if it is easy enough for me, but not sure if my details of emplyment etc will count to get points to ship my wife's car. Many thanks.
  4. Hi - more questions if I could please! We are coming out on a 457 at xmas time. I have a 2001 Integra dc5 that I had imported from Japan 3 yrs ago. It is low milage (22,000 miles). It is worth around £8500-9000. I presume it is worth taking to Aus but wondered if it will cause any difficulties having already imported the ar from somewhere else. (It was "SVA'd" with various adjustments made on arrival in the uk) If I do import this car will insurance be a problem? Our other car is a Honda CRV 2.0 petrol automatic 2006 with 38.000 miles. This is my wife's car.I presume this is worth bringing, but looking at the figures on the Red Book site I ws not sure there was much in it... Many thanks (Will be out of the country for 3 weeks split into several trips for family holidays in the 12 months prior to travel- I presume this is allowed)
  5. Hi, We are hopefully moving out in December and were thinking of importing the car too. The problem we have is that the car was purchased in my husbands name but the car is registered in mine. We both use the car and have had it for over twelve months but the fact that the names are different on the paperwork would cause a problem! Is this correct? Thanks.
