  1. Could I apply for a visa based on the fact that my daughter is Australian?
  2. I was planning on flying to NZ quite soon, quanta will take a pregnant woman up to 36 weeks as far as I know. I'm just nervous about being stopped in the way back in and denied entry because I'm pregnant
  3. Thank you for the quick responses. I applied in November 2014 and the wait was 10-12 months. My immi account currently says "assessment in progress"
  4. Hello! I'm pregnant and lonely and in North Brisbane too my baby is due in October. Feel free to message me!
  5. Hi All, I'm just after a bit of (rather important) advice please. A bit of background information first: I am a UK citizen, my husband is an Australian. We have been together for 6 years, married for 4 and have an almost 3 year old daughter who is also an Australian citizen. We have applied for my offshore partner (permanent) visa and are currently awaiting the result. We are in Australia at the moment and I am 6 months pregnant with our second child. I am on a 600 tourist visa which is valid until February next year but 6 months stay at a time (my first 6 months will be up in August). We would like to stay in Australia so that can give birth here. I have a birth centre place and Medical cover sorted. I would like to either extend my stay to 12 months or visit a friend in new Zealand and come back which will make me eligible for another 6 months here. My question is; would they allow me to extend my stay knowing that I would be giving birth here? I don't want to extend it only for them to tell me I have to drag my whole family back to the UK and give birth there. We have been visiting family here and are renting my husband's parents' house. He is working so we have plenty of funds. Any help /advice from people would be fantastic thank you in advance. Stacey
  6. Hi All, I have a quick but important question which I'd be really grateful for an answer to. I am going to (finally) apply for my partner visa (offshore) to migrate to Australia with my partner of 5 years (Married almost 3) and our daughter. He is a dual national and my daughter is awaiting her Australian citizenship. We have a fair amount of proof relationship-wise but we haven't really got a concrete proof of income for my other half who would be sponsoring me. He worked in Australia for a while and saved enough for us to return to the UK and live for a while but has only done odd jobs here and there for the last few months which we have no proof of. My question is - will this greatly affect our chances of approval? We can provide his payslips from Australia but that was only for a few months. We have enough in the bank to cover us for a few months when we get back there. I don't want to pay the application fee only to be refused! Thank you in advance for any advice. Stacey
  7. Thank you all heaps, that's really helpful. Yes our driving licenses are at the same address! My driving license is in my married name though and I will be applying for the visa under my maiden name as that's what's in my passport. Or do I need to change the name on my passport? I will definitely go and get the wills done. I realise we've done the wrong thing by not being more official with our relationship, i.e getting joint bank accounts etc! Hindsight is a wonderful thing...lol. Frogian that would be so helpful, I'll pm you now. Thanks again!
  8. Hi There, I'm after a bit of clear advice as I've read sooo much now about this subject that my head is frazzled. Basically I would really like a "For Dummies" step by step guide to applying for a Spouse visa! I have the form, started to fill it out, and that's as far as I've got! Here's a bit of background on my situation: I'm married to an Aussie (since Sept 2011) and we have been together 3 and a half years and we have a 3 month old baby together. It sounds silly but is the baby enough evidence of our relationship? We have NO other evidence, no joint bills/bank statements or anything as we have lived at our parents' houses here in the UK while we try to save the money to move. We do have photos of us both together throughout our relationship and plenty of people who will vouch for us though. My partner's dad has given him £20,000 out of his inheritance and that is the majority of our savings. He has been self employed for the past year but has no accountant or evidence of his income as he is a personal trainer and takes all his money in cash. I'm a self employed musician and photographer but I'm not working at the moment as I'm looking after our daughter. We have somewhere to live in Australia already as we will be renting my OH's parents' house, and he also has a fair bit of family over there. Does anybody have any advice RE this visa? What exactly do I need to send with the form? Thanks so much in advance, I appreciate this question must be asked a lot here!
  9. I've been here for a few months now and was shocked at all the rain!! To be fair, my husband really talked up the summers here, so it's his fault for giving me false hopes! Lol. I'll take the warm rainy days here any day over the chilly English ones. It has, apparently, been the coldest, wettest QLD summer for over 30 years though!
  10. You guys have been so helpful, thank you. I'm not staying longer than 3 months this time around so planned on getting a partner visa when we come back as it's £1100 and that's a bit steep for me at the moment!! Especially with the wedding Thanks again, you are awesome!
  11. I don't plan on staying longer than 3 months. I just think it looks suspicious because we are getting married less than a week before we fly, and we don't have any joint bills or anything like that. The only proof we have of our relationship is Photos! I'm just really scared of being chucked out! I think maybe I've watched too much Border Control?
  12. First of all, hello! I've been reading this forum for ages and it's absolutely awesome, has helped me heaps. I really need a bit of advice quite urgently, hopefully someone here can help as I've googled my arse off and can't get anywhere with it! Basically I met my Australian Fiancee (I'm British) over 2 years ago when he was on holiday visiting family in the UK. He was born here and has dual nationality. He moved here in July 2009 to be with me. We are getting married on the 9th of September and travelling to Australia on the 15th of September this year. We are going for 2-3 months to visit his family. I have applied for an e-visitor visa and we both have one-way plane tickets as we don't know the exact date we are returning. I am just wondering if being Married will affect my entry to Aus as I've never been before and I don't want them to kick me out thinking I am going to stay over my visa. Also, how will they react to me only having a one-way ticket if we are married? I plan to bring a bank statement showing that I have funds for my return ticket. Should we even say that we are married? My Passport is in my maiden name. Thanks in advance for any help you can give!! Stacey
