  1. its been ages since I've posted here.. I know this isn't the thread to post this but its been 3+ months since we landed (106 days to be precise lol) I flew to Sydney since we'd thought it'd be easer to get an IT job there easily, but just about a few days before our flight (26th May), I landed a job in Adelaide... so we flew from Sydney to Adelaide, passed the IKEA store at the airport its a great store! and are settling down slowly.. Adelaide is supposed to be like a slepy town and most people from metros would feel that way after arriving and we constantly whined and whinged about things that we're missing out on.. but it kinda grows on you.. 3 months down ad we don't even know how much we're used to all the South Australian ways - we've even started following footy ( became a Crows fan too)... Well.. here's to wishing all your folks in the queue a speedy grant and hang on to your wits for the final few days of your packing - don't fret too much if you forget a thing or two.. you can get it all here.. after all this is a developed country and all you know lol and yeah.. if you were planning on getting that custom made suit from a bloke you knew that does em cheap.. nows' the time to do it before you get here!

    best luck to you all!

Great to hear from someone who has made the move. We are going 7/1/13 to Perth feeling excited but a bit jittery too. My OH hands in his notice today a bit scary. We have no jobs to go to yet but are looking.

Anyway good to hear its all working out well for you

    Good wishes for your future.

  2. Hi Jambos,

still nothing! not a single word from our CO. Last thing was that our agent called them and they said that they are still checking our documents (that was almost three months ago).. I'm not coming here as often as I used to, there's no point since I have nothing new to say.

    How about you? any news?

Really feel for you Bloomberg the waiting part is the worst!

We have our flights booked to Perth on 7/1/13 can't wait very exciting now. Still not sold our house but are going anyway

Visa issued: June 13, 2012............Three months of sweating and refreshing DIAC site......

Its time to sit down, think straight and take the plunge deep down under.................

  4. Hey Jambos,

I was thinking about asking you to release your wolves on DIAC.. Been waiting too long now if you ask me.. I am really happy for all people who got their grants, I really am, but somehow I just don't get it how this year application have priority before ones from last year.. No matter high/low risk.. Everyday I come here hoping I'll inform you guys that the wait is finally over so I can

finally opet that bottle of Ozzie white wine that we kept in our fridge for almost two years now and nothing..

I think that wine might already became vinegar..

    so? wolves? yes?

I'm sending them in right now Bloomberg. Watch out DIAC all we ask is a GRANT FOR BLOOMBERG!!!:realmad:

By the way congrats to everyone who got their visas this week:laugh:

  5. allrighty then, I guess I can crawl out from my ''i'm sorry'' room ang go back to ''waiting room''..

    Hey Bloomberg

Haven't forgotton you still checking most days hoping that your status has changed. It surely can't be much longer!! :daydreaming:

  6. Hi Guys!! Congrats to everyone who got good news this week!! :) Happy days!

Still no word from DIAC for us since we got ABPF last week, but my agent emailed this morning to say that she thinks we should go ahead and book medicals! I'm a little apprehensive, as at this stage our application could still be declined, should we wait until the co actually makes contact?

Any advice would be much appreciated! :)

Is there any doubts with your application?? If not I would go ahead and save time. Even after meds applications can still be declined. Not that yours will be positive and go for it.

  7. Well mates, looks like it's my turn to liven up this thread

SHandGH thank you for all your Help with this thread and oppydrum and Jambos and every single member of this thread. you guys kept us sane when some of us was nervous and unsure of what was going on. I figured if a fellow Nigerian got their grant I should be around the corner in getting mine and I did. :-)

Australia Here I come. Thinking November/December for Reckie visit

    Regards,

    Emmanuel

Congratulations so pleased for you. great feeling isn't it!!!!!!!

  16. After a year IELTS testing, document collection, waiting on skills assessment, waiting for various state migration plans to come out, worrying about possible changes to the law, and then finally applying as a Type 175 and then waiting almost another year for a CO, then for medicals, PCCs, and so on to get to DIAC... We got it!

Visa Grant 7 May with entry by February 2013!

We're looking at moving in August. Now the easy part begins: like making a final decision between Melbourne and the Gold Coast; getting our passport evidenced; arranging short term accomodation; arranging flights; setting up and Australian bank account, sending money over to Oz; selling/settling assets and business in the US; getting my US house rented out (can't sell it in this market except at a huge loss); finding a job in Oz; and a hundred other things.

Still, a great day!!!! Thanks to everyone on this thread for keeping me sane during the long months of waiting. I hope everyone who still needs a grant/CO gets them soon.

    Congratulations!!

  17. Hey Guess what everyone!!

I am finally a big fat PINK!!!

CO contacted me, albeit at 2:45am (not at 1:11am as was preferred LOL) requesting only medicals. When I got to work, I checked to see what is met and what's not, and everything has been changed to "MET" except the medicals!!! wooo hooooooo!!!!

Congratulations what a relief!!! So pleased for you

  18. Turn Me PURPLE!!!!!!!

Got my pre-grant letter today! I emailed my CO this morning to let him know that i had uploaded everything he asked for and 8 hrs later, i got an email with a pre-grant Letter. Needless to say, i am pretty excited!

That being said, this pre-grant business comes with its own set of confusions, they have said i need to allow for at least 3 business days when i go offshore to get the visa evidenced, and i should send them details of my trip including time, date, flight number, destination, etc... and that they will not respond until the visa has been granted... so that means they will not respond till i am off shore (probably in NZ)?

Its a bit confusing but i am going to enjoy the moment first and worry about the rest 24hrs from now.

I will really like to thank the members of this thread, you all are an amazing bunch and i wish all those still waiting speedy allocations and grants!

    Congratulations!!!! have a great day:laugh::biggrin::cool:

  19. Still waiting! CO contacted to state that my "advise has been noted" and that contact will be made if further information is required. Let's hope that this means that grant is imminent. Good luck to every one else with high expectations this week!

Everyday I log on I am convinced you, Bloomberg & Keepherlit will have VISA's granted. It surely cannot be long now. This must happen this week. Really hoping this happens for you guys. When it happens wow this will be something to celebrate. Common DIAC

  20. Hi Guys....

Just wanted to add a glimmer of hope to all waiting this bank holiday weekend. As you know we have ABPF yesterday and apart from the obvious excitement yesterday, thought nothing of it when I got up with my children at 6.30am this morning!

However... when my OH surfaced at 9am and checked his emails - we had an email from our CO which was sent at 3.13am today - Team 2.

They have requested Meds and PCC and have requested we respond within 28 days. I have a question.... we are having the week off at the beg of June for half term and this is outside of 28 days. Does this mean we will have to bring our meds forward and does anyone know if they are open weekends?

Thanks all and have a great bank holiday weekend.

    Liz

As far as I am aware you just have to arrange medicals. This is what our agent told us but may be worth just confirming with your CO. Good luck and congratulations!!
