Steve and Aileen would like to wish everyone on this site A Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year, hopefully for us, and several others, it will be life changing year, after the normal 15 month wait we have our Case Officer, with medicals done, Police Check done, daughter has appointment with Centre Link on 6th Jan, so all is going well towards getting our Visa early in 2011, and then making the big move to Busselton, south of Perth, hopefully in early May as long as we sell house. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL:smile::smile:

We have been corresponding about a few points with our Case Office, and don't now how others have found their's, but she emailed us today to wish us a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!! I returned the compliment and said it will be good to hopefully spend the next one in Aus!!!

Hi Les, you could be in for a CO tomorrow, we are down to Brentwood tomorrow for Meds. but on the money front, had to send daughter nearly 9K for Aos earlier in week at 1.57 to pound, ouch!!!!

We have booked them for 16th December at Spire Hospital, Brentwood. Could have had an earlier date if we had wanted, but choose this one as we had booked it off as holiday

Answers to your questions, yes we went for 143 CPV straight from the start, we saw on gainwave that we were getting close to Case Officer, so applied for Police Checks 2 weeks ago and they came yesterday. Medicals booked today for the 16/12, but we could have had an earlier date. The email from Aus said we have 49 days to get information to them, and from what we have seen before, once they receive everything you get your visa.

:biglaugh::biglaugh:YES, YES, YES, Break out the booze, we have a Case Officer!!!!!! We had hoped for before Christmas, and the request arrived this morning via email. We received our Police checks yesterday, so now have to book Medicals and find a big wodge of money!!!!! and SELL the house!!!!! Some how have to concentrate on a days work before celebrating :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

We applied for our 143 and got acknowledgment on 2/9/2009, if you look on gainwave, web address has been shown on this site before, the people in front of us, fiz, who were acknowledged on 14/8/2009, 19 days before us, have just received their Case Officer, so will be looking for that magic letter soon, just need to sell the house!!!!!

Many thanks Gollywobbler for your informative and interesting reply to our query. I think we will beg, borrow, but not steal, to get the money rather than delay. We are also on the Sparkly CPV site, and also on Steve's tracker as "Framboy" and having started at the bottom like everyone, we now find ourselves getting way up the list, so for those people at the bottom, the top may seem a long way off, but you will get there, in the meantime, from our own experience, start making preparations, i.e. clear the loft, start minimizing all your belongings, organize all your paperwork and start thinking about selling the house. We find Sirmatt's comments about Marmite keep us going in some of the darker moments when we start thinking about all the money it will cost, but we are encoureged and agree with comments by others, Barbaraann for one, that it will be worth it to be with our family in Aus, you only on this earth once, you can't take the money with you, and we look forward to spending the rest of our lives with a big smile on our face in Australia

We applied for CPV 143 in September 2009, so we are now getting close to getting a Case Officer, we reckon early in New Year, our house has been up for sale for near 4 months, a few veiwings, but no takers. We are now in a slight predicament because according to our working out, with the AOS and the Visa fee, we reckon we need around £50,000, we have about half of this, and of course if house was sold would be no problem as hardly any mortgage to repay. So we are now looking round to see where can raise the rest of the required money. We are hoping if all goes through ok, we hope to move to Bussellton, south of Perth, to join our daughter and grandsons in early May 2011. Does any one know if your case Officer will defer the final payment for any amount of time????
