  1. That’s what I told my relative - it would be outrageous to do this! The agents couldn’t provide any evidence and I told my relative they were scaremongering. I told my relative visas had been discussed in parliament but nothing had been decided several months ago. When will anything official will be published? 1st July? Thanks.
  2. Hi, So a relative told me this week that they have spoken to two migration agents in Oz and both said Parent Visas will no longer exist in July, so if an application is not made before then, there is no chance my parent will able to live permanently in Oz. I know changes are planned but does anyone know what they are and when they will come into effect? (UK based.) Thanks.
  3. Really sorry, but something's cropped up, so can't make tomorrow, now. :-(
  4. I'll try and make it! Where are you, Derby Diva? Dome Mindarie 11 ish OK?
  5. Sorry couldn't make it today, my little man is poorly with bad cough/cold :-( Not fair to inflict it on all your bubs! Next time...!
  6. Hi! How many are going? I was going to but forgot I already had something on. I ought to go to what I had planned...:arghh:
  7. Don't think there will be many people there with the weather! I'll be shivering with a brown leather jacket on!
  8. Just bring him along, the more the merrier! (He can hold the baby!)
  9. So how about a meet this Wed., 13th, 11.00 a.m. at The Dome, Mindarie? I'm in!
  10. And then where would you live in Oz, and what money would you live off?!
  11. My parents are in the same boat and have been travelling to Oz for 15 years to visit my brother, now I am here, they want to come but paying is ridiculous and very unfair. It is a Commonwealth country! Any help appreciated!
  12. Maybe I missed something, but for Elderly Australians to live in the U.K. costs £1640 and the visa takes a max. of 4 months to obtain!!!:swoon:
  13. I too am looking into this - my brother is now an Australian Citizen, and we have finally got our 175 - we all know what an expensive and stressful route that is! If we go, my parents will have all their children and grandchildren in Australia. If they want to go, they have to wait 20 years - ridiculous, or pay an extortionate amount - outrageous. They have been to Australia most years for the last 15 years, and this is how they are treated. Something needs to be done about this. Now I am in a dilemma - stay or go.
  14. Gill, I am new to this site, although have been reading it for a long while! You are a mine of info.! Forgive me, but how do I PM you? Thanks.
