  1. Hi , I shipped my 3 Golden retrievers back and paid what I thought was a fantastic price to get them back to the Uk. ,what state are you in .
  2. If you come down to where I live , it's still the England that left behind and has lived up to all my dreams about coming home after living in Oz for 42 years . i remember back in 1972 when I went through a town in Sydney called Cabamatta and thought I was in the Middle East . all big cities now have this problem . England has changed like every other country but I still beleive it is still a great Nation .
  3. Returning back to england has for me has been one of the best decisions I have ever made ,when I look around and see what a beautiful country my home land is ,I have to take a second look to make sure I am here. How I feel about England now, is how I felt about Australia when i first saw it ,but that was a long time ago . Still think its a great country chris
  4. re no quarantine for dogs from Australia ,yes that is right ,I brought back my three golden retrievers as long as all there injections are up to date and they will also need a rabies jab I think 21 days before they fly out . dogs arrive the day after we arrived all bright as a button when we picked them up, three hours later they where playing in the garden . ,
  5. I still own a home over there , not through choice all my income is taxable in Australia and I then use Ozforex to transfer the money over when I am happy with the rate . No big deal . its only when you are over here you realise how isolated Australia is . good luck with your decision chris
  6. Hi, I come from Sevenoaks in Kent , and I don't have to work any more . if you feel the need to try Australia the I would say go for it, would rather regret going than regret no going. Good luck chris
  7. Hi all, I have been back in the Uk now for 10 months after living in Australia for over 40 years . I would just like to say how I feel about being back in England ,If someone asked me whats make you happy my reply would be ,being back home ,I can't believe how happy I feel at being here It never cease to amaze me of how beautiful this country is . And what a great city London is,we are only 45 miles from the centre of London but looking around ,you would think you are in the middle of now where surrounded by apple orchards and fields of rape seed in full bloom. Having Europe on your door step, the lovely country towns that have not changed to much, there is a classic car show being held near by and it is being held where the darling Buds of May were filmed, was thinking of taking my TR5 which I have owned for 32 years and brought it back with me . I love the history that England has, every where ever you turn you are looking back in time at one place or another. I absolutely love the long summer evening that we have in the summer. what I am trying to say is that I am so glad to have retuned home and it feels to me that is where I belong . To all those wanting to return ,I hope you find the happiness of being home that I have found. chris

  9. I have been back home for 8 months now and I must say being back home after being away so long has made love my home land so much more and so proud of this very beautiful country .The only thing I miss about Australia is the day after day of blue sky ,but in saying that when the sun shines here it is an awesome place to be .
  10. I have moved back to the Uk after living in Oz for 40 years ,I would rather regret doing it ,then regret not doing it .Go for it .
  11. I moved back to Uk in August last year , and the only thing I miss is the blue sky but I new I would always struggle with the grey sky . But when the sun does shine it is an awsome place to be .
  12. I live on the GoldCoast and the person I am using is in Brisbane , her business name is called Animal Transport she is an english lady that has been doing it for years she is very helpful and dies not charge the earth . in fact when I took my dogs for their rabies jab the vet asked me who I was using and I told him and his reply was that was who I was going to recommend she gave me an option of paying the UK fees in the UK upon picking the dogs up or an all up price I took the option to pay the UK fees in the UK as it worked ourt cheaper that way because of the exchange rate . the price she has given me for three dogs and one of them weights 38 kilo I know they do not go on weight but cubin metes but she is quite a big dog. the. Price was 4580 dollars plus I think 485 UK pounds that is to be paid on pick up in the UK . All you need to do is to get a rabies vaccination 21 days before they fly no blood test any more Plus all there normal vaccinations and micro chipped . i hope this helps best of luck chris
  13. Hi i am taking back 3 golden retrievers they fly out on the 6 th of August , if you let me know what state you are in I may be able to recommend some one . chris
  14. I have used conroys in caboolture when I brought two cars over with a container full of antique furniture and found the to be pretty good . after they give you a price ask if they can do a little bit better and with a bit of luck you might get a better price , good luck with the move ,. chris
  15. Yearning to return home . I have lived in Australia for 42 years apart from when i returned home back in 1973 and then when to canada for a year . It had been 30 years since I had set foot on home soil and this all started because of a car that Wanted to buy in the uk so thought i would sit down and write my reason for wanting to return to the uk as i have mentioned before on this forum I returned to the uk in 2010 and ended up spending 16 months there and it was in that 16 months that I felll in love with the country I was born in .I could sit down and write pages on all the things that make me proud to be English , the beautiful country side which I believe is breath taking in every aspect the history of our great nation .the sense of belonging was to me over welming I felt that I belonged there. I found it such a gentle place,I found the people lovely where ever we went and it to have such a great divisibly for such a small island . I never left England because I wonted to get away i but wanted to see a bit of the world and I could do that for only ten pounds. There are so many things that i miss, the long summer evening, the country walks with my dogs along country lanes, the buzz of a great city like London ,I miss the change in seasons ,I now live in Queensland and it has come to the stage that I hate the prolonged heat that we have here,I could move down south where its cooler but that would not help the way I feel. Have not been to the beach in twenty years . I have not seen much of Europe apart from the places we saw when we spent that 16 months living there and there is so much more to see . and so many ways you can do it . we booked our tickets in Mach last year to leave on the 15th of Jan but unfortunately I will have to cancel them as our house has not sold either and what we where offered we would have taken a lost of near 600 thousand dollars so we have now decided to rent it out so as soon as we find some one to rent it we will re book our fares and hopefully all my dreams will come true . we are looking to move to Mayfield in East Sussex with a few Acres and live happy ever after in a country that I at last can call Home. Good luck to all those wanting to move back Home .
  16. The. area I will Be retuning to is near my home town of Sevenoaks in Kent, but the area I have chosen to return to is Mayfield in Sussex a beautiful part of England a house in the country with a couple of acres in the beautiful English country side which I find breathtaking beautiful ,only 40 miles to the channel tunnel can't wait just hope all my dreams come true .

    Home sweet home!

I am so glad that things have worked out for you , I believe that you only realise what the UK has in so many things when you live in another part of the world . I hope to return home soon . Lots of luck to you . Chris
  21. Hi Kellyjo i am so sorry to hear all that you have been thought , bullying is a terrible thing . i would just like to say to you that last oct we brought over two golden retrievers they weighed around 35 kilos each and the cost was 4250 pounds to fly both of them over . we are going back to the Uk to live in January and we are taking the dogs back with us ,i have had a quote to ship them both back around $4500.00 there is no Quarantine in the uk for dogs coming from Australia . if you would like i will Pm you the details of the person that gave me the Quote to ship the dogs just Pm me and i will give you her details . She is in Brisbane . A cavalier should cost a lot less because it is half the size of a golden retriever .and they go on crate size .. I wish you and your husband all the best and hope you find happiness back home ,i know i did when i retuned . chris
