    confusion about assessment !

Hi All, I have a confusion which I would like to be cleared with the help of esteemed members of the forum My friend is telecommunication engineer, but has a bachelor degree in computer engineer. His experience is 8+ years as telecommunication engineer. So, Now he thinks apply for assessment as professional telecommunications engineer, based on his experience. Would he lose the points for his degree (that is computer engineering) while applying for 189 visa as he is not assessed as computer engineer. Do the assessment qualification as bachelor degree need to be same for 189 visa to get points for 4 yrs degree

    DIAC Report for 2009-2010

and considering 50000 skilled visas are granted every year, once SMP comes, all the 15933 applications would be done in mere 4 months !!! ( considering they put a halt on category 3 after SMP comes, which is indicated in some declarations by DIAC) and then would SMP for application lodged after july 10. that means considering states open SMP in nov. people yet to get Sponsorship by feb 11, and next 6 months , ie, by aug 11 they may be seen getting visas

    175/176 Visa's help & advice please!

with statements mentioned above Istated to believe we cant change from 175 to 176 however To come to priority 2, Is it really necessary that i have filed my application as a 176 application?? I mean when they mentioned priority 2, it was just mentioned Applications from people who are nominated by a state or territory government agency with a nominated occupation that is specified on that state or territory’s state migration plan. it never states you have to be in subclass 175 or subclass 176 I ask this as i think if i get state sponsorship, which of course I can, and I am in SMP list, I just inform DIAC, and I can be in priority 2 to sum it up 176 + State SMP = priority 2 absolutely true 175 + state SMP = priority 2 or not ??????

    175/176 Visa's help & advice please!

Yes i indeed applied for 175 after july 10 the thing is i contacted my agent , he says , that if we get state shponsorship now , and your occupation comes under SMP, you will get priority 2, you do not need to switch your application subclass 176. he adds priority 2 means Applications from people who are nominated by a state or territory government agency with a nominated occupation that is specified on that state or territory’s state migration plan. it never states you have to be in subclass 175 or subclas 176 I doubt this a bit as state is giving sponsorship to me so that i be in their state. that is the sole difference between 175 and 176 application. If it was the fact that i could move to priority keeping my application 175 why would a state sponsor me some one solve the puzzle, can i really move to priority 2 if i apply for state and have occupation in smp
