  1. Hi Vika What is difference between Acknowledgement letter versus Queue letter. I applied for my father application in Mar 19 and we received a acknowledgment letter following month in April 19. What does your Queue letter state?
  2. Hi everyone My mum applied for Subclass 103 in late 2012 and her queue date is Jan 2013. At the current rate, the Immi dept states it may well take over 16yrs for her to get a visa. Is that timescale true or fake? Secondly, has anyone had experience in withdrawing 103 application and re-applying for 103/173. Immi dept state if you do this change u will not lose place in queue. What is the basic difference in between 143 and 173 visas. My understanding is $4000 difference between Option-1 143 (Applying straight) versus Option 2 (Applying 173 and then 143 within 2 years). AOS is same in both options. Is there anything else which is different or unique in either case from anyones experience. Thanks D
  3. Thanks Johnbshepherd Her queue date is Dec 2012. On a recent query to DIBP, their generic response response had the following information "We are currently assessing for finalisation subclass 103 parent visa applications with a queue date from March 2008" and in next paragraph "Once your application is in the queue there may be a substantial amount of time before you are contacted again by the department. This could be in excess of 10 years depending on the availability of visa places. Queue dates cannot be changed or brought forward". It may sound strange but will it actually take 10 years for everyone? Cheers
  4. Thanks Bridgeman I will probably have a look at my previous communication with DIAC, if I am not wrong I remember asking this question to Immigration Contact person over the phone or email when they responded that you will not lose 1st Visa Application Charge if you move from Non-Contributory to Contributory category in future.
  5. Hi, Can any wise person assist me in the below query. My mum (single applicant only) applied for Subclass 103 visa in late 2012 while making the payment for 1st installment of $2060. She was then provided with a queue date. As we are all aware that this category of visa is now closed for new applicants and no of places available each year are few, it may taken 10yrs or more to reach to a decision. a) If she now withdraws this Subclass 103 application and puts up a Subclass 143 application, will she be reimbursed with $2060 which she paid for Subclass 103? b) If she is not reimbursed (a), will she have to pay Base Application Charge for Subclass 143 or will that be waived off? #The above information is still not clear from Dept of Immigration website. I will appreciate your feedback on this matter. Thanks
