  1. Anyone want to buy a PTE academic book with the CD? Only used for a week. Have erased where the OH pencilled in his answers! £12 including postage. Message me if you would like to save yourself some money instead of buying a new one!
  2. They are not showing the next invitation dates on immi but it could be June 19th for the next round as that's the third Friday of the month. However, people seem to think that they are waiting until after July 1st for offering invitations and visa's.....so it's a waiting game!
  3. Thats brilliant Rose11, well done! Did you get an email or do you just have to keep checking for any correspondence on the immi site? Thank you & good luck xxx
  4. Nope, still nothing on the site!!!!
  5. It's so frustrating that they havent got dates on - just help me focus on a date and stop worrying!!!
  6. There is still no update on june dates!!!
  7. There are still no invitation dates for the next rounds of EOI? I was hoping they would be updated this morning now we are in June. Does anyone know when the next rounds are, or whether they aren't doing any until 1st July now????
  8. Fantastic news....well done. There aren't any dates listed for June invitations so God knows when we'll get ours!
  9. Hi smithjed, well done on submitting the EOI. I did ours 10 days after you. Did you get an email of confirmation when you submitted your EOI or is it a case of just keep checking SkillsSelect constantly? So stressful!
  10. I'm also thinking of these areas and have children of a similar age so any other info on these areas would be gratefully received x
  11. I probably need to stop worrying but its the 'not knowing' if they receive our info
  12. Yes its just those 4 you mentioned. My hubby got similar scores this week. There should be an average score of the 4 and if thats over 79(which it will be) you are ok. X well done x
  13. Should we have had emails back to say the EOI and Victoria state nomination form were received or not? The EOI says submitted but we didn't get any sort of email to confirm it was received. Then I have a reference for the state nomination form but had no email confirming receipt of the application. Just wondered if others had email confirmation as I don't want to sit thinking they have it if the don't!!!!! Probably worrying too much x:arghh:
  14. I'm in the same boat. I have two dogs that are my babies but I'm worried about the travelling & then settling in. They don't cope great in uk 'warm' weather! Its a lot of money and my husband doesn't want to take them for that reason, but its not the money for me - just whether its fairer to leave them here with family. Such a tough decision x
  15. Thank you very much. Very helpful x
  16. Any thoughts on areas of Victoria that would suit mountain bike maniacs???? I know majority of Melbourne is too built up but anyone know of areas outside of there that might be suitable. Had hoped to go to Brisbane and plenty of areas there, but looking like Victoria now....but hubby and son need the mountain bike tracks or we'll be home again after a few weeks! Thank you
  17. Sorry to be thick, but we''ve had to go for the 190 now due to my Hubby's job no longer being on the SOL. This means a move to Victoria instead of Brisbane as we hoped if all goes to plan. If we spend 6 months in Melbourne and he can't find a job in his profession, can we then go off to Brisbane to see if he can get a job there, without being kicked out the country for not staying in Victoria????
  18. I'm wondering the same thing. Looks like we might have to try a 190 state nominated visa but there's only one state we can go to (Victoria). Probably rather leave that state after two years (if not before) but I wasn't sure if we could or not? X
  19. My husband is doing the PTE test tomorrow. He's a nervous wreck as English isn't his strongest point! Will keep u posted on what he thinks of the test!
  20. My dogs were due to have their rabies jabs today but I postponed it whilst I have a little think about the best thing to do. Good luck hawthorn whatever you decide to do with your cats x
  21. I am having the heart wrenching decision about my two dogs, both 3 years old. They are my babies and the thought of going without them breaks my heart. However, it is going to be £5000, a lot of unsettling for the dogs with long flights and quarantine then hot weather of Brisbane for them to cope with. I do have close people that would look after them but it just hurts too much thinking about it. My hubby doesn't want to take them over and I have one child that thinks they should stay here, and one that doesn't!!!! I have to start their jabs in the next week or so and therefore make a decision soon. Just don't know what to do xxx
  22. Thanks Susie, thats really helpful and I'll check that link out now. I'm always on google maps checking the areas out but never really looked at travel times at certain times of the day so I'll do that as well. Thank you x
  23. We are thinking of the Chapel Hill, Kenmore or The Gap as a place to live out in Brisbane. We are all cyclists and therefore being near the parks/green areas is important. However, I think we would only be 45mins from the CBD and a bit more, maybe an hour to the beach so we could still commute in a reasonable time and visit the beach without too much travelling. If anyone knows of these areas and thinks this would be a bad choice of area, would you please let me know. I also need to consider the schools for the children as well but 'I think' these are ok areas for them. Any advice would be really appreciated x
  24. Bob is it true that Australian quarantine costs have increased from £39 to £139 per day???? So that means 10 days quarantine is £1390 per dog when it used to be £390??? If they decide either of my dogs need to stay in longer than 10 days for any reason, then I'll have to pay £139 each day on top of that???? :err:
