  1. I have to admit Jamie's Italian was not great this time but my first visit it was fantastic !

I love to eat at Durty's Nelly's in Shafto Lane, we have never had a bad meal and the servings are amazing

I really enjoyed The Lucky Shag for lunch a few weeks ago, it was my first time there

I took Stacey to Crown Resort, we had Dinner in the Casino, it was $22.90 for a buffet with free soft drinks, tea and coffee, although not like the Buffet

at The Atruim which is $75 a head xxxxx

  2. Hi Sarah they are all pretty good suburbs, although Brentwood and Melville would be closer to the City and just down the road from Fremantle, depends if you are looking for schools as well, but you can't go too wrong.

  3. I'll stay quiet from now on Stacey but if you need any help I will be on FB, if you are here in Perth for Christmas you are welcome to come and spend it with my family, if you need accommodation I can help, take care of yourself xxxx

  4. Well I haven't given much advice, but I have had 8 cousins come on WHV and most were lucky to stay and get 457 visa's and the Citizenship

All I will say Stacey is this

    they all loved Byron Bay/Cairns

they all said if you get stuck in Sydney it is hard to leave

they all loved Melbourne, it is another City and I don't care what anyone says it is a fantastic city so much vibe, Southbank is amazing and lots of little quirky laneways

Perth was lovely a bit quiet for them at their age all mid 20's that was 5 years ago so things have changed

they all loved the Margaret River area

My Cousin who is a specialist education assistant in a Secondary School in Dublin has June/July and August of for their Summer Holidays, her Partner quit his job to come with her to Oz for 12 weeks so they could get a feel to see if they wanted to do a WHV, they did that tour I think you mentioned from Sydney to Cairns and said it was amazing but to be honest there were some not so nice accommodation but they said the people they met and the experience was UNREAL.

My Cousing was in Melbourne for 5 years and just moved back home to get married and see how things go, he met an Irish girl here lol

My other Cousin and her partner have been in Darwin for 5 years now have a little girl and have no plans to go anywhere and the rest settled in Adelaide

All I Know is Dome has become quiet in Perth, but if you need somewhere to stay I can help you with that and show you around a bit.

That HELPX looks great, but I just want you to feel comfortable and enjoy your stay, in my opinion you are very brave I could never have done what you have done, keep going

we are all here for you

I might just come see you in Melbourne if you stay lol xxxxx

  5. I never said that all would have that kind of life!!! what I was saying is these are some of the issues of Australia I can not comment on the Uk as I don't live there, I live in Perth and have a teenager and see what is going on and hear what is going on and am aware what are major issues, obviously the life these Children/Teenagers are living will have an impact on them just like any First World Country !!!

  6. I can't speak for the UK, but I can for Perth and and some other major Cities, as I have very close friends there, one of my good friends is High up in the Police Force, I have never mentioned that before but some of the stories they have told us would make your skin crawl, Suicide is High in Australia and Cutting has become an epidemic with young teenagers, the biggest problem now is Ice the new Drug of Australia and it is ruining lives it is a horrible drug , all we can do is inform our Children and always talk to them, so many teenagers are now on Anti-Depressants too, I believe Social Media has a lot to do with it IMO !!

  7. I think its all daft, but hey that's just simple me.

You were born in an English speaking country, the country is even called England!!, you went to primary and secondary schools in England, you did all your exams in English. You can trace your family history in England back to Tudor times and beyond.

but....apply for a visa for Aus, and you need to prove you can speak/read/write English, which you do.

then you get here and find that half the people you try and speak to in shops/the workplace etc, don't know a single word of English

funny story going round FB the other week of a non English speaking person working in a servo in Perth that was pissing everyone off, when they Didnt know the rounding down/up rule on the money and was demanding people paid the 1c:laugh: and couldn't speak enough English to grasp what people were trying to tell her.

sad thing is....why did this person get the job over a English speaking person who can actually converse??

Dont say its because no one else applied, because in these times, all are applying.

Because the people with not the best English are willing to work Odd shifts for their money which probably isn't great, to be honest all the none English speaking people were I live are wonderful they treat me with respect as I do them, if they stuff up so be it, it ain't the end of the world, first world problems hey !!

  8. For me at the moment it is just trying to keep my head above water !!!!, but it's getting a lot easier, my chill relax time for me at the moment that makes me happy is having the kids come home from school telling me about their day while I make them afternoon tea, there is a 30min difference between each of them getting home, so they get my full attention instead of them both trying to tell me everything at the same time, nothing big I know, but it makes me smile, I'll come back in a couple of months with better news lol x

  9. Well everyone has a opinion but we believe although solar , wind , wave can be used for energy it is not enough with current technology only nuclear can provide the solution.

As for heating , pipe colours do make a difference, yes have seen black pipes in Australia up to 90c , whereas replacing with white pipes down to 50c . All relative to what you need , in this case didn't want hot pipe work so went with white .

Mine wasn't an opinion it was based on my life and actual bills

  10. My Leccy bill at the moment is average of $250 to $280 for two months, we have 2 fridges a chest freezer, 3 mobiles and 2 ipads and a laptop, we never turn our computer off, saves a lot as I go to bed late OH is up for work about 4.30am, I don't use a lot of lighting at night, light left on in hallway all night for the kids incase they needs to go to the toilet, 2 TV's but second one hardly used.

$280 is using the air- con a lot in Summer

our gas is usually $160 for Gas cooking and Gas hot water, we have Gas ducted Heating, we have used it a fair bit when it has been very cold on average 4hrs a night my bill was $340 for the 3 months which I was happy with as I know The ducted heating is fairly expensive to run

No one can believe my Leccy is so cheap, my friends is on average $800 to $1000 for 2 months "GULP" I'd be crying lol

  11. Eureka Skydeck day or night, to get view all over the city and beyond

    The City Circle Tram

A nice walk along Southbank and stay around till about 8pm and see the flames shot out of some really big metal things lol

Try find one of the hidden gems of pubs there are a few around the City, Charles Dickson's is one we like to go

Crown Casino is also lovely with lots to do with families and lots of places to eat with a gorgeous views over the City

Docklands for Breakfast or lunch is great too

The Big wheel is in Docklands

Melbourne Markets are good to have a walk around

    also agree with Freckleface

    Just keep warm lol x

Just to add Crown Complex is along Southbank x

  13. I was quoting the National Award. If you are covered by that and not be paid correctly under it you should contact the Fair Work Ombudsman.

Edited to add - the loading applies to all hours, not just those on public holidays.

Thanks FF will have a good look into it !

  14. Noting however that casual employees in Aust covered by the national minimum wage also get at least a 25 per cent casual loading.

Not all of them FF, if you sign an agreement you get nothing more, I earn $18.01 an hour if I work Boxing day or New Year's day I get $18.01, maybe a bit different over East unless

my employers are not doing the right thing !!!
