    Which visa would be best

He cant go for a parent visa as he has got my brother and sister living in the UK. If your running your own business your normally on call 24/7 plus the hours worked in the week, book keeping and so on. All in all the hours mount up which prob would be over 38 hours per week. When I first came out on a 457 sponsor. There was times where my employers work dryed up and was layed off for a few days but made it up over following weeks with call outs. Thats just the way it goes with a small business. As long as they can see your surporting your self with there required income they leave you alone. Ive not seen the changes with the 457 and I know all the other visa's have changed thats why its difficult to find the right visa for him.

Think if your running you own business they nt gonna know what hours your working. Just goes down as 38 hours on the books as a salary

    Which visa would be best

I am a perminant resident on a 176 visa and my Father wants to move out here with us. We are thinking of setting up a electrical contactors and pest control business but trying to work out which visa he could move out on. He has ran a business him self for over 9 year and is also a manager at Dunlop in the UK. So he has plenty of experiance, qualifications and skills. He only wants to semi-retire, so only really wants to work about 20 hours per week. Which visa would be the best one to go for???

    Pool - Pros and Cons

I think for the 1st year of moving here you need to get a pool to get it out of your system. We have been here 12 months and not used our pool much at all. Its cost us about $100 a week extra in rent than it would to rent a house same size in the same area. Running a pool dont really cost much if your not heating it. We have a pool company come round once a month to check the pool and put any chemicals in and on avenge its about $20 per month for extra chemicals plus we buy our own chlorine tablets which is about $30 which last the month, longer in winter. You dont need to change the water but will need to top it up and empty some from time to time. It can be hard trying to keep the balance right from day to day with the weather changes. The hot sun can strip all the chlorine out of the pool plus heavy rain can cause problems too. Some pools have a auto chlorinator making life a lot easier. We have got a problem at the moment with our pool being cloudy and green from the sun, trying chemicals to clear it but not having much luck. If you take water a sample to a pool shop they test it for free and guild you to what you need to do. Each week you need to vac pool, back flush the filter and clean the skimmer basket, takes about half hour then just do a test your self to see what the waters like. I used test strips and just match the colours up on the strip to the chart on the bottle. When our tenants contract is up we are just going for a house closer to the beach and just go the aquatic centre when we want to swim but as I say you need to find out for your self if its really worth having a pool and if you will use it. Remember unless its heated your not going to use it in the winter. Hope this helps Stew

No nothing was ever said by the 457 case worker but I did say in my holiday visa application we had a 457 visa in process and we wanted to come out for a holiday to figure every thing out before starting work.

    856 ENS visa timelines

I think you can leave you employer but my agent said some thing about after 6 months and its not a thing that DIAC like to see. Not 100% sure At the end of the day you are on a permeant Visa so not going to watch or check your moves and wouldn't of thought they could make you stay at the same company. Hope some one else can give you a better idea of it all as ive never seen any guild lines on changing company.

457 visa submitted - can i holiday in oz?

We tried to apply for a holiday visa last year while waiting for our 457 application and had it declined. You could always try like we did as it is free to apply online, you have nothing to lose.

Does anyone know the timelines for 856 ENS visa's now??? We are currently here on a 457 visa awaiting on a 175 visa to go through but not sure if I should apply for an ENS visa now I am eligible after passing exams for General Electrician License. We original applied for 175 back in June 09 so it will be processed before Dec 11. Will ENS be quicker as my employer will sponsor me??
