I think theres a lot of us at this final stage now, I keep telling myself that they must be working on all these visa applications and that once we get to July they will convert the assessment in progress status to visa granted (or whatever it says) they can't have just stop processing, they'll be busy on all our applications and we will be informed real soon

I'm interested to know.... Mine says assessment in progress since Feb, final paperwork requests uploaded mid April.

CaptainC, I did receive the delay email via my agent. I asked her if it was worth chasing them up, she said she used to work for The Immigration dept and felt that it really wasn't worth chasing at this stage and should just sit tight until we get to July. I've read some people have been lucky enough to get through, others haven't been able to get an answer, it's all very hit and miss. I'm sure they have gone through the applicants,miss a shame they can't confirm that yes you can have your visa but the official documentation cannot be allocated until July. I wander how many thousands of people are in the same boat around the world. Must be a nightmare for the Imm dept too, trying to field all the calls and emails. Shame they can't plaid something with more solid news on each application they have which would reduce the amount of calls they must receive.

I'm a 489 VISA applicant, submitted 31 December. CO assigned 13 Feb..... I will be on the 7th month of waiting now, I'm hoping for my sanity that the visa will be granted in 17 days time. I also hope that all our visas are just sat there waiting to be granted come the 1st July. This waiting has been horrendous. It's the NOT KNOWING, we have practicLly sold our house and I would like to make further plans but I daren't until I know for definite. So frustrating as they say 489 visa applicants are also 75% completed within 3 months.

I submitted my application on the 31 December 2014. final paperwork Ie medicals and PCC uploaded mid April. CO was assigned 13 Feb. Received the delay letter and I now believe it will be July onwards when I will get a reply. Looking to book flights for approx 17 Sept once I have received the golden VISA. Heading to Coffs Harbour NSW

Yes the 489, 189 and 190 are all supposed to be within approx 3 months and are first priority over others. I have emailed my migration agent to chase it up, I know they don't like to be bothered but 6 months is pushing it a bit now.

I'm not a 189 visa but I did submit my 489 30/12/14. CO assigned 13feb and now we are in limbo land and haven't heard anything since. Only thing we have been told is that the 2014/15 places are almost at a close. This is so frustrating, we don't even know how many places they have left. I hate the fact that we have no correspondence, I know they have thousands of applicants but we are paying substantial amounts of money and deserve some form of updates. good luck to everyone, hope we all find out very soon

Hi, could someone just clarify what the nursing hierarchy is in Australia. I am an adult nurse and wandered if they have 'sisters' etc. I've been looking at the different gradings for the registered nurse but it doesn't mention how I may progress in my career once there, could anyone shed any light on this and what the criteria Is for progression etc. thank you

I sent my application to the Sydney department at the end of February 2015. They acknowledged receipt on the 13th March, and now it's just a waiting game. NMC and Uni have said they've forwarded the relevant information, this was posted before I got the application to them but I can't see that being s problem tbh, I'd love to know how they go about filing everything, must be a nightmare for them. To be fair, with the amount of people who have been on the forum who say they keep chasing AHPRA I'm not surprised they take forever, they are probably on the phone all the time answering questions !! I'm almost tempted to ring them but I wont, they've told me they have the application, we have to just sit tight now and be patient
