  1. Hi, I sent my AHPRA application 31 October 2013. Along the way I have been asked for numerous extra evidence. The board have looked at it again and decided need more evidence re: 2, 5 & 8. 2 will be fine because uni did the template for criteria 2 but only did it for the advanced diploma timeframe and not the top up degree part so they can just send that again. Criteria 5 - stuck. They were happy with the hours on placement and the variety of settings and it all meets the criteria for my advanced diploma but they need it for the top up degree. Well I havent done any placements because I did a mentorship course and research (2 modules) that is all. I rang ahpra but they must have this information. Criteria 8 - same again the criteria is fine for my advanced diploma which was sent but they want medications management for the top up. Once again i did not do this in the top up degree. I rang, they still want info. I worked for a year before topping up and was working whilst i was topping up. Has anybody else been asked for this and what did they do? At the moment I have forwarded this email to university and hopefully they will deal with it. Good job my husband has a job to go to!
  2. Hi, just to update all you who have applied to Perth office ahpra. I received a letter through my door today posted from AHpra on 30/12/13 (just took a week). I opened it thinking how strange, I thought I would get an email. Anyway, I sent my application off on 31/10/13 to Perth. My letter says that they have decided to offer me an extension till 28th February as all applications once assessed by a case officer have to go through the national board within a certain time frame. If the timeframe has passed and the application has not been assessed by a case officer, then the application has to go to national board and then is refused and classed as incomplete. The letter says then that to prevent this from happening we have extended your application to 28th February. Has anybody else got one of these letters? I just hope it is assessed by 28th Feb, I have just booked flights on 1/1/14 just because I wanted something to look forward to, my flights are not booked till 28th july so worse comes to worse, I could re-apply.

  4. Hi, I sent my ahpra form to perth on 31st October. It was received on 14th November. They then received my nmc verification 27th November. Does anybody have any idea how long perth office are taking or how long theirs took? Also is there anywhere on ahpra website that says how long waiting times are? I know back in September someones took 6 weeks. Any applications in Oct, Nov, Dec please? I have my visa would just like to wait for this before booking our flights. Thank you.

    Ahpra timeline

Hi just wondered if nurses wanted to post timelines for ahpra across various states to give an idea for all us applicants at current timings. I sent mine off to Perth on 31st October. Perth ahpra received 13th November. They also received my certificate of goodstanding on 27th November so now they say they have everything and it is in a queue for processing. Anyone who has gone through this process any ideas how long this could take? We could also keep this post updated with any problems or information that arises and see if anyone can help. Thanks
  6. Hi Nomicon would that be Keighley, West Yorkshire you live in? If so, I live not far at Cowling. I am a nurse and have had my skills assessed and visa 189 granted and just waiting on my ahpra letter. Perth office just emailed me today saying they are just waiting for my certificate of goodstanding and if they do not receive it by 6/12/13 they will withdraw my application. This is quite stressful, it was only sent a week ago so I know it will have not got there yet and I need to be patient. What nursing does your wife do? I worked at the hospital doing surgery and now do community nursing. Whereabouts in Perth are you going? Me, my husband and my three children are going to North Perth. Keep in touch. I cant believe it if you are near me.
  7. Hi, I am a passenger driver train in the UK with 7 years experience. I am aged 45. My wife is a nurse. We have our visa just waiting for my wife's nurse registration to come through. I am worried though as I love my job and am taking a gamble to just come over to WA without a job or maybe facing facts I wont get a job as a train driver. I fancy a change and would like to try locomotive driving but I am not experienced as this so just wondered do I need to apply for trainee driver jobs? I do not know where to start. I have done my CV so when we book the flight out when nursing registration has come through should I just start sending my cv out to every train company whether they are advertising or not? Thanks. Paul.

    Ahpra

Hi, My Ahpra application apparently arrived a few days ago to the PO Box. I just wondered, do you get an email from Ahpra at Perth letting you know they have received it or dont you usually hear from them unless they want more information from you? Please help and then I might stop panicking. Thank you.
  9. Hi, I sent my ahpra application off last thursday and the last tracking i had was when it left on a flight to perth. Today this will have taken 7 days and it has not get there yet. Is that ok still or do you think it has got lost. I wondered if it might still be in customs? No tracking available in australia yet. Sorry to stress but this is a really important document that took ages to sort and get signed. Any help gratefully received.
  10. Hi just to add I got my visa on 1/11/13. See timeline below. Team Brisbane 33. I waited to be informed by co to get medicals and pcc and i still cant believe how quick it all has been. Just one question please. My letter and grant notification came through on email. Is this all we will get? I mean nothing will come through the post will it? The reason I ask is because the letter has my old address on it although I did email my co a change of address form. Do I need to inform my case officer or just leave it? I cant see it being a problem at the airport or anything can you? They are not likely to ask my address are they? I mean I have my visa now so what does it matter? Would be grateful if anyone has had a visa to confirm that there is nothing likely to come through the post. Thank you.

Hi thank you both for your replies. I did think about sending the documents from ahpra but the anmac documents i had done was not certified by a public notary or a jp. It was done by a solicitor. I never thought at the time. I saw some posts on here that ahpra have been strict in that it has to be a jp of public notary so i thought best safe than sorry. I feel better though about not having an address on it. Also I do not know if you can help Lorna as it looks as though you are over in Australia now and have been through the visa process. I got an email with my grant notification and before the grant notification is a letter with my old address on it. i did send a form changing the address but it looks as if they have not changed it. Does this matter as it is only on the letter and not the actual grant notification or are they likely to post me grant notifications too. I was just going to leave it but not sure whether i should email case officer telling them about my address but I dont know if the airport need an address or anything will they because I have left and that day will not have an address if you know what i mean. Rambling now. Just nitpicking on things really I know i should not stress about the littlest things.

    AHPRA timeline

Hi I just got granted my visa 189 today and am heading for Perth. Next step is Ahpra. I posted this yesterday and I was wondering has anyone got any timelines for submitting to the Perth office? I am from UK and am still there. My husband has to give 6 months notice and we will not be giving this in until the AHPRA comes back. Lots of time to plan. Did anyone come up against any problems? I hope I have submitted everything correctly. I have posted marriage certificate, passport copy, qualifications, statement of service, cv, evidence of cpd. I went on Wednesday to a JP in bradford and that was a scary experience. I did not realise it was a proper court and had to sit in the dock while my papers were certified. I thought it would be one on one in an office somewhere. How naeive was I? Anyway not bad service for £25. I am a bit worried though because i had so many documents and they signed each cpd certificate for last 3 years and they wrote the statement signed and dated it and initialled it and put the justice of peace seal on it but they did not put the address on each one. Does it need it? They gave me an a4 paper at the end with the jp name, address and contact phone number with a seal on it which i put in with the application so hopefully that will be fine. I did not have the heart to ask them to write the address on it but they did have the guidelines in front of them and I thought they must do this all the time so they must know. Anyway worst comes to worst, I will have to go again and get them done again with address on each document. I have organised the whole visa process myself, ielts, anmac, visa 189 and now ahpra and i have got to say ahpra has been the worst for getting everything ready.
  13. Hi. Congrats on all those who have got grants. I cannot believe how quick it is. I waited for a case officer to contact me before going for medicals and doing police checks. I went for medicals yesterday. Nothing else was asked re: extra documents so hoping for a grant soon. Will see. I have been to get a justice of peace to sign all the documents today for ahpra and it is ready in an envelope to post first thing. I hope it is not too long now. PS - How will i know if any of our family medicals have been referred without bothering the case officer?
  14. Hi. Just received my police checks today. I just wanted to know can I just scan my certificates in to my case officer or do i need to get them certified? My case officer was very efficient 8 weeks and all he has asked for is medicals and police checks. Worried about medicals - my husband has had a hernia which he has had for 8 years with no trouble and i am overweight but never too late. I have started running and eating healthy so hopefully every little helps.
  15. Hi I have received a case officer on 1/10/13 Team 33. No special requests other than do police checks and medicals. Please can anyone advise how to go about medicals. Do I just go into my account and go through e-medical link and then choose a hospital through that or does it not give me that option. Have i got to already have chosen my hospital prior to logging into account? Any help much appreciated.
