  1. Hi everyone, W are breaking the lease on a beautiful 4 bedroomed home in the heart of Tanunda, its in an extremely sought after area of South Australia in the Barossa Valley, it's 5 years old with a lovely side and rear enclosed garden. Walking distance to 4 famous wineries and a 5 minute drive to the beautiful Jacobs Creek Winery. any interested private message me please.
  2. My little girl is currently in Spotswood in Melbourne, we have been to visit her as we are in The Barossa Valley in Adelaide, wow the treatment is like a 5star hotel, we also have a dog walker who my Friedman have previously used, he's called Bruce, he's fantastic, he posts pictures for you ad videos of how your dog is dog, he's a lovely man, as when we visited our dog he was there. from the UK we used Golden Arrow Shippers, in Shropshire, they have been fantastic in keeping us informed about everything and how Sparkles journey went.
  3. Well everyone I've just been looking at the information regarding the new EBAC exams which are being introduced in the uk, not much future by the look of this for the not so bright children ending up living in the uk, we are emigrating to Aus , I hope the education isnt going down the pan like here in the uk, it's sinking fast in my eyes. http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kentonline/news/2012/september/18/new_gcses.aspx
  4. My view on the education systems , having a child in primary schools in both countries. I always thought Australia was behind but now I'm back in the UK I see it in a very different way, in fact I feel the children in Australian education are better than the UK because they are actually allowed to be children and don't have the pressures the uk children face, the children seem much more happier and allowed to develop without all the stress, it's probably like the uk many years ago.
  5. Thank you so much for that I will have a look, we have come up against brick walls so far
  6. Hi all, I so desperately need help of anybody knowing which State / Area my 8 year old boy would get the most help, ie in schools, Teaching Aides / Teaching Assistants etc. He has just been diagnosed in the UK with Subtle Asperges, he goes to the most amazing school in the UK, he gets lots of help in the classroom, also Social Skills training in and outside the classroom. Our pr visas are due to expire Jan 2013 so we have to make our minds up asap. If we dont go now before they expire we have been told we will never get visas again until he is a adult. Any help would be so gratefully receivedxxx
  7. Hi everybody, Just wondering if there is anybody out there who knows "were is the best place to bring up an 8 year old boy". My husband has been offered a job in The Barossa Valley, but I fancy living more in the Coromandel Valley areas. I have it in my head that The Barossa Valley is isolated, when I have checked out the schooling there doesnt seem to be much choice, the schools seem to be Primary only, not all the way through to high school. In the UK my little boy is in the most fantastic school ever, its in the top 3% of all the uk. I am worried as my little boy also has just been diagnosed with Subtle Asperges, would his education suffer living in such a country side location, or would we be better around The Coromandel Valley, we particulary like Flagstaff Hill, Aberfoyle Park, Blackwood, Stirling areas, also they are a bit closer to Adelaide CBD, and the beaches. Any advise or information would be so greatly appreciated as we need to move on things pretty soon. So confused!!!
  8. We used to live in Qld before returning back to the uk in 2010. It took us a good 8 weeks to choose the right scho for our 6 year old son, we thought a motor the schools had a rough edge to them, think what it is the school he was in, in the uk was exceptional. He started a new school in Qld but within a few weeks he was way behind his peers, he didn't get much support to help him settle at all. I think if we were staying in the area we would have changed the school, I feel it's extremely important for a child to settle quickly especially when he's a long way from what he is used to, I think it's just findi f the right one to suit your child.
  9. Hi there, mine and my little boys passports have expired, we have already activated our visas back in 2008, we have been to Aus 2x now and the 1st visit after they expired they transferred the visa number at the airport in Sydney, we always take our old passports with the visas in just in case, hope this helps.
  10. Hi all, Wonder if anyone can help me. My hubby has been offered a job in The Barossa Valley. Does anybody know what its like to live there, ie the location, schools, lifestlye options. I feel it looks quite a relaxed lifestyle, or will it be boring, as we have an 9 year old son to occupy. Any thought would be greatly appreciated.
  11. We used him, the amount of things he has explained to us is absolutley amazing, you would never find these things out unless you know somebody like him personally, we have a file it it massive. I would suggest its well worth the investment, they also keep in touch and advise you when you are in Australia, fantastic comany to use
