Cass When you are asked for your 2nd VAC, you will told how to pay, they will not take transfers, only credit cards which is very expensive AU$900+ as you have to pay the card fees, or bank cheque about AU$10. We sent a cheque by registered post from QLD on a Friday and it was there on the Monday. Hope this helps

Amanda, we have been here in Australia since Feb. On a holiday visa and just been granted our visa. Your CPV143 is just an application so will not interfere with the e-visitor.

OK, we had 2nd VAC request on 10th Sept 2014, sent cheque registered post on the 11th, it was delivered on the 12th, which was last Friday, on Tuesday 16th because we are in Australia immi asked when are we out of the country, we booked a package deal to NZ for Monday 22nd, we come back three days later as PR's. Whoop, whoop. So after waiting best part of 19 months all done and dusted within 2 weeks, and no agents involved.

Hi Barry Our acknowledgement was dated 6th feb 2013, Centerlink contacted our sponsor in Oct 2013 and our AOS was payed. Medicals were done with a HAP in May 2014, police checks have been done, so we are just waiting now for our CO. It seems to me that certain items happen at different times, with different applications, but take the same time to finalise. Hope this makes sense. Regards Andalog.

Hi Pri, We are not far behind you, our receipt was dated 6th Feb 2013, we haven't heard anything yet, all the necessary paperwork has been completed, health checks have been done too. So I will follow your path very closely. Regards.

lostintransit, I may be wrong so check, If your Mum is not going to work, why pay for the 143, when you can get the 864 or similar with a bridging visa to stay until granted. You should also check what difference it will make to her pension, because once granted it will be frozen.

Try the Westpac reward saver, I think it pays 3.91%, but you have to set up a standing order for 50$ per month.

Hi, I'm filling out form 47PA contributory parental visa, question 11 asks, have you or any dependent family members previously been to Australia, held or currently hold a visa for travel to Australia. My wife and I travelled twice last year using e-visitor visas, their numbers are too long to fit in the box, does anyone have an answer for this please.
