ive been in perth for 8 weeks now and still havent found a job. even though i have 28 years experience. i have the regs course booked for 13th august (soonest date i could get) You must have your TRA (Vetassess). It took 8 weeks to get my restricted licence even though they said i should have it in 4. i applied for this 3 weeks before i left old blighty. you cant book into the course unless you have this and you can get a reduction in the cost once you have the licence $239 for the 2 week course. You also have to do 180 hours work experience (theres the problem, everyone wants A class, vicious circle) before you can do the capstone test to get your A class licence $350. Once you have your restricted licence they will send you phone numbers of colleges where ou can do the test. im doing mine at challenger campus in rockingham. Hi all My family and i have been living in Perth for 3 months and ive been trying to get into the industry with no luck. I have been a qualified electrician in England for 28 years and have a restricted electrical licence for WA. I have my Australian regs course booked for 13 August but need to get 180 hours experience before i can do the capstone exam to get an A class licence.
