Guest The Ritchies Posted October 27, 2009 Share Posted October 27, 2009 Hello everybody! Been following the forum for a few months now and finally plucked up courage to join! We are a family of 4 Martin, Wendy Lauren (10) and Samuel (7) from Peterhead (just north of Aberdeen) and are moving to Perth on 11 Jan 2010. To cut a long story short - OH has been working in Perth on a rotation with his company in Aberdeen and has been offered a transfer to Perth so we thought why not! Everything seems to be happening very fast. Decided to move in August, house went up for sale in September and went under offer 3 days later!!!!! Lovely couple are letting us stay on until we fly out. Will be having one last (and probably very emotional) Christmas in what has been our home for past 13 years. We have secured a holiday let for the first 8 weeks in Kinross and originally thought about staying there. OH has now thought about other places after having a drive round in some time off. He likes the look of Carramar, Tapping and Secret Harbour. All I want is somewhere with a decent primary and High School. Guest Posted October 27, 2009 Share Posted October 27, 2009 Welcome Wendy to PIO, we are also heading to Perth in April next year......we stayed in Kinross when we went for our reccie.....they have a very good primary school or so I was told....there are lots of British there....it was very nice...but not for us....it's really hard to choose an area until you have been there and lived there for a while. pau1evs Posted October 27, 2009 Share Posted October 27, 2009 hi there xx many congrats on joining pio there are loads of people on here with good info xxx wow you are really lucky to have job in perth and good luck with your move xxxx we are family of 5 been trying to get visa for 2 years but finally granted all we need now is house to sell !!!!!!!!!! got to say we will be sorry to let the house go as where the kids grew up xxx but need to sell xxxxx so we can make plans ie book flights etc we stayed in tapping /joondaloop 2 years ago on our reccie trip for a month (we viewed lots of areas around perth which was not good with kids !!! )))) and got to say thats what made us say thats it we ARE emigrating which is just down the road from kinross so good choice and probley spent every day on burns beach which is a hop skip and a jump from kinross secret harbour/ safety bay etc was also fab and alot cheaper !!!! keep in touch as we are all in same boat xxx thanks carole xxx Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

His company organised visas and will also be handling our shipping. House sold really quickly too which was really lucky. Will get more of a feel for places once we are there but got holiday rental in Kinross to start as OH has a friend that stays there and thought at least would know someone to start with.
