Hi Everyone, More Newbies!!!

Just a quick question, we have sent of my o/h skilled assesment to Vetasses, well our agent has, they have come back saying "They need a signature from the person who certified our documents to verify the documents that have been certified"

We had a soicitor do them and put in one of his cards in aswell, just seems a bit of a strange thing to ask for, wondered if anyone else had been asked? Also because they havent asked for any more papers/refs etc do you think they are satisfied with what they have got? Just getiing a bit nervous now and hopefully want to move on to the next stage!!

My O/h is going for General Electrician in the 176 Visa

Hi Kerry & Craig

What did the Solicitor do? Sounds like he either didn't state that each document was 'a true copy of an original document' or put a signature on them. We had a skills assessment from TRA rather than Vetassess and got our Son's Head Teacher to certify them. She stamped each document with a 'Certified True Copy' stamp - she signed each one, then wrote her full name, date, job title and contact details underneath.

Good Luck to you both. You'll find this forum VERY useful!

Hi Both,

Thanks for the reply, Yes the solicitor stamped and signed all papers individually, he copied them from the originals and stamped them, he has done us a letter saying that all papers were copied from originals etc etc now and e mailed it of to them, i just thought it was a strange thing for Vettasses to ask for when they can clearly see that a solicitor has certified them and we put his card in with the papers!!

That is a bit of an odd situation – The only other thing you can do is have your solicitor email both your agent and vetassess with a colour scan of the originals and extend a call to their offices to clarify the (non) issue. With them being certified should have been enough!?

This is part of email i got from them

"Documentation Certification:

To 'certify' means that someone who can officially do this (member of the police force, notary public, Justice of the Peace etc) states that they confirm that something is a true copy of the original - for example, a true copy of an original document or that the photo of someone is a true representation of that person. They may use either a stamp or hand write on each document their registration number, name and address, position or rank, and may use an additional seal. They will also sign the document to provide proof of certification.

The identity of the person certifying your documents must besupplied with you application and should be clear and include:

Original signature of the certifying officer

Full name and title of the certifier

Stamp/registration number (if applicable)

Contact details such as a telephone number and address

It should be noted that a company stamp (i.e. solicitors) signed on behalf of that company will not be accepted; only an authorised individual should attest to the sighting of the original documents or statements of truth.

For further information on how to apply for a Qualifications Assessment, see below or visit our website atwww.vetassess.com.au

If you need further assistance, please contact us again at migrate@vetassess.com.au

Please note: 1) we do NOT accept any copies of the original certified copies of the required documents

2) any colour scanned copies of the documents are not accepted for your assessment (unless they are the certified copies)

3) please refer to above Documentation Certification for how to certify the documents"
