Will I fail medical?

Hi,

I am new to all this so bare with me. We are in the process of applying for our 119 visa and I am really worried about failing medical.

My husband is the main applicant and he should be fine, however I have a form of kidney disease called IGA Nephropathy. It is not aggressive and is controlled by medication at the moment and I have normal kidney function, However there is always a chance things could change and eventually lead to dialysis and/or transplant. Hopefully this won't happen as I have it for the past 16 years and no change. Can't mention this to my husband as it would devastate him if he thought we wouldn't get going. He knows I have this condition but he doesn't realise it could end our dream.

Would love to hear from someone in a similar situation who got their visa?

Hi Willa25, please try not to worry too much.

My OH had multiple different health issues and we needed documentation from specialists about his condition. It is best to have this when you go for your medical, and although you have to disclose all and any illness if they stopped everyone with one, no-one would ever migrate so dont be too worried. Just look up what is the best way to give yourself the best chance.

When your health is the best it can be, and you can only do what they ask, there isnt a clear answer because each case is different and hopefully you will be approved just fine.

Best wishes and good luck.

Hi i have a liver condition with a similar prognosis. After submitting the original medical ,i was asked to go for 'further investigation' ,which just meant seeing a liver specialist they had recommended who did a report on my condition. A few weeks after that report was submitted we got the visa. I know its easy for me to say , but, try not to worry and just for some reassurance the public medical treatment i recieve here is fantastic and i havent one complaint..

Hi, we haven't applied for a visa because my husband has IGA Nephropathy but we did do a lot of research and investigating and from what we have found out most people would be ok, however, my husbands kidney function is way down and he is likely to need a transplant within 2 years. If you're not likely to need a transplant within the next 5 from what I have read you have a good chance of it being ok. Good luck everyone:-)

Don't know what my creatinine level is, just know that at moment kidney function is normal but you don't know with these things how they will change.I have an agent because our case is not so straight forward.Quite expensive so if I fail we lose the lot but it's a risk we are willing to take:smile:

Just found out this morning that PR visa granted. Had medicals on March 23rd. Asked for further blood tests for me because of kidney condition but that was all. Creatinine is at 100 which isn't too far outside normal range. So that's it, we are off to Oz, at last. Thanks again for all comments and best of luck to anyone hoping to do same
