hi

has anyone had a holiday in Australia in a motor home? Me and my husband are looking into options for our holiday combined with fact finding/where to live mission we are hoping to travel around March- April next year. We thought this could be a good way of covering more of Australia on a budget. unfortunately there seems to be so many options. :? at some point we have to fit in Brisbane an south burnette region.

Anyway any adivice or experiences will be gratefully received

cheers erma

hi there

we went on a fact finding trip in january and also looked into the motorhome way, however, we decided against the idea on cost, hiring a motorhome for our needs (2 adults 2 children) would have cost a fortune so we went the holiday park route, we travelled alot in the queensland area and also new zealand (AWFULL), it worked out alot cheaper and some of the parks were absolutely fab, if you are going to the gold coast a park called Tallebudgera Creek was great, we had a villa by the beach side, well worth a trip!!

If you look into the holiday parks BIG4 were good and also family parks were nice aswell.

hope this helps a little,

Beth. :D

Hi there,

We did a motorhome holiday in November. We arrived in Sydney then travelled the east coast to Melbourne. As you say, our holiday was fact finding and getting a feel for the place.

Well we loved it! such a free feeling holiday, go where you want and you decide how long you want to stay.

Go on do it, you will love it!

Any questions just ask :D

If you are wanting to hire a camper van, for a one way holiday trip, try: http://www.standbycars.com.au/oneways.aspx?cid=1

An example of one on offer recently was:

Brisbane to Perth 13May to 29May 4Berth ST (campervan/motorhome has a shower and a toilet), 14days allowed at a cost of $1/day

Why so cheap ?

Standbycars.com acts as an agent for all the major campervan companies.

These companies have hundreds of vehicles which need relocating to different cities around Australia and New Zealand each day.

You can book up to one month in advance depending on what's available.
