swintonfan
Has anyone ever shipped over there car to to Australia? If so was it easy? and was it worth it? How much did it cost? I have a car it is only 12 months old so i wondered if it was worth the hassle. The reason is the price of cars over in Brisbane is expensive. thanks in advance
Missus B
We looked into it and it's a very expensive, complicated and drawn out process. The cost of shipping and then the fees, were nearly the price of a new car in England. You would be best off selling it and using the cash as a deposit on a car in Oz. Guest Guest31881
Hi, To be able to ship your car you need to have owned it and had the use of it for 12 months minimum, I will move your post to the Transport thread for a better response. A lot of members have shipped their car over and fund it to be worthwhile, it will depend on what car it is, can you get spare parts for it in Oz, and it value . Take a look at the following threads ... http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/transport-shipping/97053-transporting-your-car-oz-everything-you-need-know.html http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/transport-shipping/133529-shipping-your-car-via-container-new-rules-jan-1-2012-a.html There are new rules about using containers and the link is above. If you have any questions can I suggest you send a PM to Iron Chef or post on his thread and he will help you with advice and costs.
